The host was so accommodating and served us breakfast for dinner since there weren’t any nearby pubs to go to. And even left us some cereal and milk for the morning before we left! Our kids loved petting the horses too!

Lampeter is a good centre for visiting provided you have a car. The Cardiganshire coast is not far and has some spectacular cliff-top walking between New Quay and Llangranog. The Cambrian hills run close by to the east. And there is Strata Florida Abbey ruins, Tregaron Bog for bird watchers and Devils Bridge for steam train enthusiasts, all within a 40 minute drive
The town itself has seen better days. The fact that St David’s Trinity College campus is there cannot compensate for the loss of its position as the area’s main livestock market and the town has clearly declined economically.
But there’s still Conti’s Cafe bang in the centre where you’ll get a very special vanilla ice cream.

Lampeter is a small town but with a variety of shops. Great little garden centre is Roberts' if you want well priced pots and plants. Nearby is Cae Hir gardens and a short drive away is Aberaeron, a charming harbour town - you must try the ice cream flavours there (honey, for example). Within the town, The Black Lion offers an excellent menu or, if you wan to cook for yourself, try the Bakehouse for ideas and superb ingredients.

Spending time at the university, particularly enjoyed time in the university library. The Quilt museum was excellent and was one example of Welsh heritage. Visited Cae Hir garden, well worth the visit.
Local people in the cafes and shops were all very friendly and we learned a lot about the town and the changes over the past years.

Lampeter is a very interesting place , it is a university town and has some beautiful buildings .It also hosts a large amount of eateries ,pubs and restaurants. It has a superb fine dining restaurant at the Falcondale hotel, which is well worth a visit.
It also has cultural quilting centre which is quite amazing and a hidden gem from the road. There are plenty of traditional shops available as well as two large supermarkets.

Lampeter is a lovely little town, I have visited my daughter attending the University there several times a year for the past 3 years. She has no intention of returning home to Essex at the end of her uni course!! There are plenty of small shops for everything you might need and 2 larger supermarkets; enough pubs with restaurants to choose from and a charming eatery called 'Granny's Kitchen' open during the day.
My son lives In Lampeter as my daughters came with me for a visit we thought it too much to all stay there so we booked rooms at the black lion. When I visit my son we always have a meal at the black lion but this was the first time we had rooms for the night with amazing breakfast.
The staff are lovely and very welcoming
It’s always the place we go when visiting Lampeter
Lovely clean modern rooms and great service from all staff.
Ideally situated on the edge of Lampeter, this chalet combines access to the town and countryside by foot in equal measures. An easy stroll takes you to river walks or pub lunches, and the supermarket is closer than either of them. Very dog friendly, our giant bear dog Pisces thoroughly enjoyed her stay and loved staring out at the fabulous view, as did we. Highly recommended.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was the only hotel available on the days we were in Lampeter, so was a little worried from the photos I had seen on reviews. However, I think they had made an effort to spruce up the rooms since some of the photos were taken. Very basic but functional. Would stay again if I had to. You get what you pay for at the end of the day.
We had such a great stay at Evangelisa- everything was perfect, from the super comfy bed, to the thoughtful touches like a tea and coffee maker, detailed information book to the really lovely hosts. Breakfast was awesome and definitely set us up for the day. Such a perfect little place, I'd highly recommend it to anyone staying in Lampeter.
Booked this hotel as I needed to be in Lampeter for 2 nights and it was the cheapest available.
I have used this hotel before (in a different room) and found it adequate for my needs.
The beds were clean and we both slept fine; there was plenty of tea and coffee provided.
This was the first time staying in this area and when we get the chance to come back, then we would have no hesitation in booking the Evangelisa. The hosts, Angela and Nigel were very friendly and welcoming and as for breakfast, very yummie
Lovely relaxing getaway .
