Overall the stay was superb 👌. I would definitely recommend as Melvin was so helpful and giving information. The Mill Lodge was 5 star but I felt it was more. He was so lovely and friendly and went that extra mile. He joined us for a drink and a lovely social chat. He was an amazing host 👏. The food was more than excellent 👌 😋. Plenty on your plate. The breakfast was fantastic and more. Melvin was so friendly and welcoming from the start, and shared his photography with us. They were absolutely 💯 stunning and you will see them throughout. We briefly met his wife. She was lovely but didn't see that much of her which sadly was a shame but Melvin definitely made up for her absence.
I asked if they could. Maybe decorate the bedroom for my partners surprise birthday and he had. It was so lovely of him to do that for me to finish the surprise for my partner. The whole time we were there was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't of asked for any more. A huge big thank you for everything Melvin.

Harry and Nicola are exceptionally welcoming. 👌😊 Great location with stunning views, with a short canal walk to a quaint town with 2 very nice pubs that serve excellent food and a good selection of drinks. Breakfast is spot on according to the Mrs as I was worse for wear. Haha, the fantastic views across the valley to sugar loaf are also beautiful 😍. Will most definitely stay there again as I miss Harry sense of humour already. A wonderful place and 11/10 from me. Thanks again both. See you soon 100%

Great location, we walked Pen y Fan, the guest house was just 30 mins from our car park. Kelvin and Mel were the most lovely hosts, with a wealth of local knowledge and stories! They went above and beyond with their service and the breakfast was better than most hotels. I highly recommend a visit. We ate in a lovely village nearby at the Bear pub

We stayed here as hubby was entering an ultra trail which started at Abergavenny so it wasnt too far away, otherwise Gilwern is a quiet but pleasant place. Also visited Hay the book town about 45 minutes away.

A quiet little village where everyone was so friendly.
A quiet little village where everyone was so friendly. Not many shops but we didn’t go for the shopping. A great fish & chip shop with lovely ladies running the place. Quiet central to lots of other pretty villages. Gorgeous countryside.
