Felixstowe has a really good promenade giving access from Langaurd Point to Old Felixstowe and beyond via a short beech walk to the Ferry Boat Inn. The prom also gives access to a good range of cafe, bar and eating establishments, the spa Pavilion being well worth a visit, the town itself is but a short walk from the pier and has a pleasant pedestrian only high street

The promenade was really nice, plenty of entertainment plus free outdoor play areas including ping-pong tables!
The walk along the beach was very nice, right beside the golf links up to the Ferryboat Inn. Good food. but do book beforehand as it is very popular

Although the weather was less than kind, my stay was pleasant and comfortable. The Great Orwell Hotel was the ideal venue for my need to be near the centre of town and close to the seafront for a bracing morning walk.

Felixstowe has something for everyone.
Felixstowe has something for everyone. There is a great mix of shops - chains and independents. The beaches are clean with decent facilities and amusements. The Dock end has the fort and museum with the excellent cafe. The amusement arcades are generally clean and varied with fast foods between. The pier has the obligatory slot machines with a cafe and food kiosks near the leisure centre. Old Felixstowe has quieter beaches and a large carpark. The ferry end is quieter but charming.
What we don't enjoy...the bumpy, bouncy roads and the ban on motorhomes in most of the car parks.
The Orwell was recommended to me by a friend whose family come from Felixstowe and it couldn't have been a better recommendation! It's charming period decor and comfort surpassed my expectations. As soon as I walked in the hotel felt warm and friendly with a beautiful lounge to relax in and a great restaurant and bar area. Our double bedroom was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was such good quality. I was only in Felixstowe for one night but when I go back I will definitely be booking into The Orwell.
You have very nice staff who are friendly and helpful. As iam Disabled and walk with a crutch . I Was given very nice room on the ground floor .It has a very big bed which was great to sleep in . Stayed at your hotel for 6 nights . And I would normally stay at Premier inn
Which was fully book . I visit FELIXSTOWE 3 times a year to see my friends. I enjoy my stay
With you so much . I will book Best Westen Brook Hotel for my next visit to FELIXSTOWE well done staff
Loved the bed and linen, especially the towels. Loved the staff who were unfailingly charming and helpful. Location was good, near bus stop, railway station, cheap petrol station and easy parking and walk to High Street, shops, cafés and seafront. Loved the dining room, full of atmosphere. Food excellent. Ate too much! Loved the downstairs rooms, plenty of room to sit and read or play games. Didn't use the bar but it seemed cosy and well stocked
The hotel is tired and desperately in need of refurbishment- our room was freezing we asked if there was any additional heat - girl in reception said you should have an extra heater in the cupboard there wasn’t to which she replied oh we’ve run out then - bed too small - hit my knee on the wardrobe 3 times trying to access the bed . Basically an uncomfortable experience.
After being in such a bad hotel which I left with 3 days left. I booked this lovely place it was cosy, and the bed was really comfy. The view was great, and Donna was very nice.I didn't realise the tv only had bbc, iplayer, and your own netflix. I kept searching, and Donna explained as I thought it had gone wrong, just me, though, lol
My room was large with a decent sized bathroom. There were plenty of tea bags, coffee sachets and milk. The bed was comfortable and there was some parking at the front of the hotel. To be fair there's plenty of parking on the street nearby. I had a nice large breakfast each morning and the bar was large and well stocked.
I love this hotel. I first stayed here in 1985 and I always try to stay here each time I visit. It's a lovely building, the staff are always attentive and the rooms are beautiful. You have happy helpful staff. The atmosphere is a calming experience which makes for a very relaxing stay.
Great location close to boardwalk and high street. Not much parking for clients. Hotel staff were friendly and great, hotel probably needs an upgrade, looks like they have started doing some renovation. If you looking for value and great location this is it.
We really enjoyed our stay in this pleasantly presented flat close to the shops and beach. Felixstowe is a great little town, too.
Thanks very much to the owner for the thoughtful gift of bread, crisps and biccies on arrival.
The caravan was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, bathroom and balcony area, there was everything you could need.
There were games and dvds to use which were very welcome.
All info was clear and helpful.
The Orwell Hotel is in the town of Felixstowe and also close to the beach, offering a good choice of places to eat during our stay.
The staff at the hotel went above and beyond with help and answering any queries.
Beautiful apartment with nice partial view of the ocean. Easy walkability in great area for walks along the beach and near a park. Perfect for children.
