Good customer service. Food was good rather than exceptional but good value for money. Also when they made a mistake they responded positively and promptly. Good location for breaking a long journey between the Highlands and the south.

The stay here was brilliant. It had everything that we needed for our 4 night stay. It was really quiet at night and Tina and Simon helped us out with information and recommended places to go. We stayed in Lockerbie as we went to a wedding in Springkell. It was about 20 minutes drive away so is really easy to reach.

Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired looking centre just a small general store. We went to eat at the Cressfield hotel on outskirts of village by caravan site.We ate there and would reccommend their evening meals.Ecclefechan is in quite a good position to see some of the surrounding countryside and coast.

Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by Ste who was more than helpful during our stay. The landlady made a point of coming to sit near us during the evening and we had a nice conversation not only with her but a local gentleman called Ben who we had a few drinks with. The barmaid was really good and although the place was busy she didn't drop a stitch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on the next trip to Scotland.

This hotel was a real home from home.
This hotel was a real home from home.
Each room was full of fascinating historical artefacts and the owner was keen to tell us about the history of the building.
There are open fires and cosy sitting rooms to enjoy.
The welcome was very warm.
Nice comfortable hotel with all the amenities you need. Breakfast was excellent as was our bar menu meal. Staff were very friendly and one of them even offered to walk our dog for us which we were delighted with. Location is perfect for access to A74M. The room was clean the bed was comfortable and as we had an en suite we were self contained the shower was excellent as was the water pressure which is sometimes a bit poor in many hotels.
One night stop over on route to Scotland I booked the superior double and it was worth it. Lovely big comfortable room.
Travelled with my dog who was made very welcome.
My evening meal (gammon and chips) and breakfast were delicious.
The staff were lovely and friendly. I look forward to staying again.
Breakfast and our evening meal were excellent. This is a dog-friendly hotel. We were so pleased with this hotel that on our way home we rang and managed to book a return night in Room 6. Staff, room, food all were excellent. Thank you for our excellent stay. It was perfect.
We liked the location and the proximity to the hotel where we had dinner on the first night. We liked the size of all the rooms especially the bedrooms. The bedding and towels were spotless as were all the dishes in the kitchen.
Great location 2 minutes off the motorway with ample parking. Beautiful hotel with loads of period features as well as some quirky artifacts and a lovely attentive owner. Pleasant staff and a delicious breakfast.
We had dinner at the hotel for convenience - this was served promptly, well presented & was good value.
Breakfast was all you could hope for & was a good start to the day before setting off on a long journey.
Great hotel for my stopover. Tastefully decorated with welcoming staff. Had an excellent evening meal in the bar, with lovely views out to the hills. Single room was lovely, with spotless ensuite shower room.
Really easy to find, without driving miles away from your travel route. Car park behind the hotel. Evening meal even though we arrived later than expected. Good pub atmosphere with fantastic staff.
Spent 1 night and the room was really clean with all details in place. Bit of fresh milk, different types of coffee, warm and same level of a hotel, but smaller.
This hotel was a great stay. Welcomed at the door, check in was quick, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was perfect. Parking was good. Thank you.
Wonderful dinner with cooking of highest quality and very well priced for the obvious effort put into the meals. The hotel itself was very comfortable.
