Crossways, hotel in East Lydford

Crossways is nestled in the heart of Somerset, at the foot of the Mendip Hills, 4 miles from the city of Wells.

Breakfast was good. Dinner was mediocre. We thought from the advertisements on booking.com that we would be in Wells but we were a distance out in the country.

I was particularly impressed with the enthusiasm of all the staff. I was also pleased to see the staff wearing humorous 'T' shirts, it took away the away the "stuffiness" of some hotel restaurants. Was also pleased to see that the food is locally sourced. The food was really good and well presented. I really loved the Lime and Elderflower cheesecake . All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. (albeit only one night) I thank you all. Hope to visit again .

My favourite places was the beautiful countryside in the area, there are some nice walks as well. We visited different Pubs in the area for evening meals, and the food was very nice. It is quite easy to get around but easier with a car.
