The caravan is lovely and the view from it was brilliant. It was our pups first proper holiday and the area was just brilliant. Close to the beach and woodland walks. Would definitely go back.
Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery. The Castle Museum is well worth a visit as the staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. The history of Dunoon is fascinating. The Lorne Inn is a great place to eat but there are plenty of other places too. Puck’s Glen with waterfall walk is nearby and the Botanic Garden is close by also. Dunoon is handy for the ferries to Gourock and the Isle of Bute.

I found Dunoon to be a pleasant and friendly town with all the amenities i needed. Cowal is a beautiful part of Scotland with tremendous opportunities for outdoor recreation. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, yet is close to Glasgow and its amenities.

A trip to Benmore gardens was worthwhile and the surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful. Dunoon it.self is beginning to feel a bit run down and neglected, very limited eating options at night even at the weekend where you strugle to find anywhere after 8pm still serving food apart from carry out food .

Dunoon is a lovely little town that needs to advertise its wares much more effectively. In particular opportunities for walking in the surrounding countryside. There is a reasonable range of shops and places to eat but opening times are too restricted to attract more tourists.

Castle House Museum Gardens are beautiful and well worth the hike up to the flagpole for the view.
Food and service at the Lorne Bar are excellent
St Ives Hotel has a beer garden worth checking out at weekends and right next to the water.
Easy to walk around.
Swallow cafe could do with some staff training the person serving ice cream had an attitude issue.
Based myself here for 2 nights whilst walking the Cowal Way. Prices for hotels en route were unaffordable for a solo walker.
Great location 5 minutes from the pier for ferries and buses.
Single room was warm, had hot drinks and a TV.
Ensuite small but functional
Very reasonable price for a single walker.
I don't normally eat at hotel restaurants but after the first night, decided it was so good value that I would eat there the second night.
Italian/Spanish menu - good sized tasty portios at a very reasonable price.
Clean, spacious, well appointed, fabulous location.
You can't pay for the view from the Heron bedroom. The property is beautifully located just outside of Dunoon, with plenty of parking. Richard was the perfect host, welcoming and informative. I'd recommend booking somewhere to eat in advance as everywhere was booked up. We took a little wander to the Oakbank Hotel for a drink, filled up on crisps and beer and had a great night with the locals. Breakfast was excellent and very welcome.
Room was scrupulously clean and tastefully decorated. The fridge in the room was a bonus as the milk for tea was fresh.
Breakfast was well presented and plenty of it, and the view from the breakfast table was 2nd to none.
There is plenty of off road parking and the B&b is central for lots of trips and activities in Argyll and Bute.
We had to arrange an earlier check in time to fit in with a family wedding. The hosts happy to help us with this.
The two room suite we had was quite excellent! Very comfortable and a great location in Dunoon! Very clean and accommodating! We tried to rebook when we immediately step foot in for our next portion of the visit, but it was already booked for somebody else. Next time we are in town, we will be booking here!
The apartment was really comfortable and a convenient location for a local event I was working at. The living and dining area is spacious, and the apartment is really clean and welcoming. You have everything you need for a short stay in Dunoon (a cafetiere or filter coffee pot would be a welcome addition!)
The Whistlefield Inn was a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location. The staff was friendly, helpful and accomodating in this historic inn. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable and the location lends itself to some great hikes and exploring the towns in the area. An extremely relaxing stay.
Montague Villa is a lovely B and B near Dunoon. It is well appointed and spotlessly clean. We were served a wonderful breakfast by our hosts the following morning. Our only problem was that the room was at the front near the road and there was a little traffic noise. We live in a quiet area.
Booked this property for 3 of our guys who were working in the area recently. Feedback from them was all good. So much so that they wanted to return the following week, unfortunately the property was fully booked. Good contact from the host prior to arrival.
Great location on the promenade, back garden with seats and tables looks out on the beautiful West Bay, also a fabulous lounge and balcony area with the same outlook.
Also a quarter of a mile from the start and finish of the Dunoon 10k which was ideal 😊
The caravan park is located in a beautiful area of Argyll. The scenery, even covered in mist, cloud and rain was really beautiful. It was close to the loch and there were several walks nearby. This was the best part of the holiday.
Clean, comfortable room with excellent views of the Clyde. Staff very friendly and helpful. Included breakfast was excellent and substantial. Hotel situated in a quiet location a few minutes from the centre of Dunoon.
The place was a great size for our group of six. It was really well kept and walking down to the water was really beautiful. And, the fact that we could do some laundry was a pleasant surprise. It's a beautiful area.
Comfortable cabin with two bedrooms, main bathroom and en-suite toilet. Good kitchen and family area. Located in beautiful surroundings no matter what the weather is like. Highly recommended.
Great location and facilities, ideal for a break away and plenty of lovely walks around.
The caravan had all we needed and hosts were always available to answer any queries we had.
Owner and staff were excellent. They provide an excellent breakfast that was included and they offer dinner reservations as well. The hotel even provides a full bar which was nice.
