Great location; easy to find and convenient for public transport. Car park was spacious and quick to check in the car for the free parking. Really welcoming and helpful staff. Breakfast plentiful, tasty and well cooked (although hashbrowns a bit rubbery after sitting a while). Rooms were sizeable with plenty of sockets.

Easy to find. Great free parking. Near to the centre of Carlisle. Rooms basic but comfortable and warm. Beds very comfortable. Good big screen tv. The full English breakfast was great if too much. Toast tea available etc.

The staff were amazing! I arrived around 8:30pm with a very large dog who was treated greatly! By the time I was settled in the room with bags, I was a tad late to place a food order, the staff were very helpful and placed an order for me... So thank you very much to them and the kitchen staff as I had traveled for nearly 10 hours with just some snacks! Hotel was lovely, great parking, entrance and room was great for the night too with carpet and a good bathroom and shower.

Dalston village is beautiful, but Carlisle Town, what we saw of it was uninspiring and unattractive. Lots of road works , confusing road systems and busy. Not a bit like the other lake district towns. Perhaps we hadn't seen the best of it to be fair.

Quite an underrated town.
Quite an underrated town. The castle and cathedral are very interesting, plenty of history to see. I like it most because you can quite easily travel to fantastic locations from all directions; Hadrian's wall & Newcastle to the East, Ribblehead & the Lake district to the South, the scenic Cumbrian coast to the West & the Historic Southern lowlands of Scotland to the North!Dominic - 10Scored 10

Carlisle is so full of history I love the buildings eg the Cathedral, the Castle, the Citadel which is going to transformed into a university campus. The little streets are very interesting could have spent more time exploring.

Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria. If like me you don't drive its good to have a base with plenty of public transport to enable you to see a variety of places. Carlisle itself is easy to walk round, everything within walking distance.

I love Carlisle!
I love Carlisle! It’s a great town with good shopping, history and nightlife The bars and restaurants are wonderful and it’s very friendly There is plenty of parking, it’s compact and interesting My favourites are The Thin White Duke for drinks/food and Bocata bar for live music, atmosphere and great drinks

I was only there for a quick one-night stop. The weather was so bad in the evening that I did not venture far, but I found a decent fish-and-chip shop. Got up early in the morning and went for a walk. I did like the city centre area, and especially the historic area.

We expressed our dismay at the room we had on the first visit as I have health problems and getting our very heavy case to our room somewhere down the labyrinth at the back of the hotel was a mission of stairwells. This second stay was so much better, and thanks to the receptionist who ensured that we had a better room. It had a nice kitchen, the living room was a good size and the bedrooms had comfy beds and the rooms themselves were very roomy. There is a Sainsbury 5 minutes away which was convenient and the castle was a 10 minute walk. Room layout the same as all other Ibis hotels I've stayed in. Staff really helpful and friendly and the hotel is in a fantastic location. Carlisle is a really nice quaint town with lots of nice restaurants. The hotel is a 1 min walk from the train station, a 2 min walk from the town centre, and a 10 min walk to Carlisle United's football stadium.
