The tapas in the bar on the second night was excellent. The staff were very friendly. Yegen is a pleasant village with a literary history The main road running past the accommodation was extremely quiet. The views across the valley are good.
Rooms at Hotel los Bérchules have a terrace offering spectacular views of the Cádiar Valley and Contraviesa Sierra.

We had the most magical stay at Las Chimeneas. David and everyone from the staff was super welcoming and made us feel right at home the second we stepped foot in their gorgeous hotel. I wish we could have stayed a little longer to enjoy the peace and beauty of the surrounding mountains. Special mention for the delicious food as well.

It is a beautiful, spacious house with a lot of character. The views from the two terraces are spectacular.
It is clean and well cared for.
The Balcón De Válor Rural Tourism Center offers holiday homes on a large estate in the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. The complex has a swimming pool, barbecue area and playground.
El Montoro is situated in Cádiar. With mountain views, this accommodation features a balcony. The guest house has family rooms.

We had an absolutely amazing time here. What a beautiful room! Everything was clean, functioning and new. The host was very accommodating. We loved our stay here. The balcony was a bonus!

Yegen is a beautiful Alpujarra white village on the side of a large mountain. It has far reaching views and you can even see the sea on a clear day. There are almond farms all around and the blossom was beautiful in January.
It feels rather like stepping back in time and is well worth a visit. Most places were shut while we were there as we arrived late on Sunday afternoon and left on Tuesday morning but I'm sure there are nice places to eat and drink at busier times. There are many footpaths in the area and it would be a great place to use as a base for hiking.
