Room very comfortable, excellent beds and linen, totally sound proof. Breakfast choice was extensive. Lovely pool for a dip after a day's sight seeing. Staff does not speak English but together we managed easily on the translator apps. A bit of a walk to the metro station but we knew that before we booked so can't complain.

The hotel, whose name initially caught my attention, ultimately proved to be a letdown. From the onset, my experience was soured during check-in when I was informed of an unexpected 2000 RMB deposit requirement. This upfront demand for payment felt unwelcoming and set a negative tone for the stay.
Unfortunately, the disappointment didn't end there. Post-checkout, the process to refund the balance of my 4000 RMB deposit has been frustratingly slow, displaying a stark contrast to the hotel's alacrity in collecting fees. Such inefficiency is unacceptable, especially in the hospitality industry where trust and customer satisfaction should be paramount.
As someone who travels frequently and values smooth, transparent transactions with lodging establishments, I find it difficult to recommend this hotel. The lack of promptness in handling financial matters, combined with an overall lacklustre experience, has left me thoroughly disillusioned. Future guests should be wary of these potential inconveniences.

the bed was a traditional Chinese wooden carved bed - very big and more comfortable than it looked. Shower room and bathroom were not modern but were very adequate and the provision of sliders for the shower and slippers for the room were very appreciated. It would be good if they could provide some tea / coffee for the room - provided a kettle and mugs but no tea/coffee. It wasn't a big deal though.

Adorably helpful staff at this charmingly converted hutong guesthouse. The rooms aren't large but really work the space, cleverly and stylishly designed. The location is one of my favourite hutong areas, half hip cafes, half traditional tiny shops and businesses. There's a gorgous roof terrace with views over the Lama Temple stupa, and kind staff did my laundry and hung it up here to dry for no extra charge. They also offered to order in any food I liked and provided nearby recommendations. So welcoming.
