We loved the location of this place as it was central, we loved that it was hidden from the main road and had such beautiful surroundings and views!
The houses were all spread out so you had complete privacy from others also staying there. We loved the open fire and free breakfast vouchers!
The host was super friendly and helpful going out of their way to help us when needed and quick to reply via phone, we appreciated this a lot.
The outside spa was clean and relaxing! The outside of it needed a bit of a clean and so did the umbrella above just from the leaves falling from the trees. All functions worked just not the light setting.

We loved the location and the cosy fee of the cottage. The area is beautiful in autumn. The fire was great and kept as all warm during the night. Kathy was so welcoming and a great host, she even starts the fire for us so we can come back to a warm house. My little 3yo loved the little toys that Kathy has brought out for him. Really close to shops and restaurants an excellent coffee shop!

We loved the shops in Olinda and Sassafras just down the road. Easy walking, sitting in the sun at Dudley’s having a wine was relaxing. The trees and the beautiful Dandenong botanical gardens were amazing. It is like a little haven just out of Melbourne, all the people working in shops are so friendly it is just such an awesome little town.
Because it is so incredible it is getting really busy on weekends.

The townships of Sassafras and Olinda offer many quirky and artistic shopping and dining experiences. Alternatively you can have a typical aussie bush experience. The many massive gardens in the area are a must. The Alfred Nicholas Gardens are great any time and the Botanic gardens rhododendrens are sensational in season. The area along the Tourist road and out to Kallista is beautiful.
I highly recommend a visit to this area.

The place was picked by the photos and they were out if date . The spa wasn't the same as the picture. And my wife is a invalid so the spa was very difficult to use for her as the height was very dangerous. It clearly isn't the photo which was advertised. Also there was no area for standing outside if it rained no cover at all. Also very noisy being down stairs can hear constant noises. The breakfast was good and the place is warm. It's clean but it's less then the pictures are discibing .

At first they seemed nice, but when we walked into the back in a dark (what seemed to be a garage or something, messy paper work everywhere) we just brushed it off and we regret not looking at the place before paying the remaining money.
When she showed us around she pointed out all the faulty appliances that we shouldn't be using, she asked my husband if he was a handyman and how she gets some of her guest to help her 'fix' the place up. Even if my husband is a handyman we are on our anniversary getaway, we came there to relax not work.
The handle of the sliding door (which is basically your main entrance) is broken and anyone can break in literally with a ruler, no security at all.
When we saw the bathroom she told us that she took 3 light bulbs out and only left us with 1, when we asked why she replied "because guest leave the lights on when they go out".
It was so dusty and dirty, when we rocked up the towels were on the oil heater cause they weren't dried and ready for us, the towel rack broke while she was showing us around. The bed sheets didn't look clean nor did they smell clean, we saw some bed bugs on the bed and this put us off straight away.
We booked the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath, there was no balcony or mountain view for us. I believe that as guest we deserve to have a clean, comfortable and secure environment to stay in especially when we are paying $320 a night.
We didn't end up staying at any of the 2 nights that we booked, We were so disappointed and outraged so we just went back home.
We did call and try to compromise to get half our money back but they didn't return any of our calls or messages
Absolutely the worst way to end our anniversary getaway!!!!

Couldn't visit gardens or national parks - most closed due to damage from wild weather - however, normally these are lovely to visit.
The villages along the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road can get quite crowded on weekends, so if you can visit during the week, it will be more peaceful.
there are plenty of food options around, including some good 'country pubs'.
The immediate feeling when you step out of the car being at the location was amazing. The scents and sounds of the dandenong ranges being at your front door was great.
We even enjoyed the morning coffee on private deck with the sound of a lyre bird call nearby. The coziness of the room was amazing with the wood fire be side the bed. A very comfy floor rug beside the fire place made the stay very pleasant despite being 4-6 degrees outside. The double spa was amazing to relax in.
We would definitely visit the BnB again.
I loved the quaintness of the cottage. Brett has done an outstanding job of renovating and creating a beautiful atmosphere of an olden era. We absolutely loved it. The location of Como Cottages was amazing, adding to ease of access to our wonderful four day weekend; just a very short walk to so many food options and to the many Olinda shopping experiences. Would love to come back in winter and experience the open fire in our cottage. Thank you Brett.
Excellent location only 150m walk from the Mt Dandenong Hotel and Kellys Bistro and other shops. Well stocked breakfast items and true double spa bath. Plenty of heating options for cold nights. Small balcony with table and chairs providing views over the city lights. Nice rustic garden setting with some little quirky features. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Off street parking provided.
Beautiful cottage nested inside the forest. Fire place and heat pump kept the place warm. Daily freshly baked bread was delivered every morning. Big spa tub, smart TV. The host Rhonda was very helpful and got us tickets to KaBloom Flower Festival. The cottage is close to Cloudehill Garden, RJ Hanmer Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
The studio is compact and very well appointed - all you need is there! Very comfortable and as near as you can get to the centre of Olinda. Near great walks and the botanical gardens. Jasna, the host, was available when needed and very caring. Just what we needed, so we extended our stay.
Breakfast provisions more than ample. Reception was wonderfully friendly & helpful. Location was very central for Dandenongs & beyond. The room was true luxury with little touches like chocolates, better quality bathroom products. There is also a Day Spa attached. I loved my stay.
Everything! Spa is fantastic, the Olinda cottage was incredible and staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Truly was one of the absolute best stays we have ever experienced, highly recommend as a relaxing getaway!
Staff is very nice. Bed is absolutely comfy. Love the themed room, it is quaint and felt the old fashioned vibe. It is perfectly located right across the places we wish to visit in Olinda. The tub is the highlight of our stay.
Location was excellent. Setting was very nice. Cottage was charming, but with a stylish, modern twist. We made use of the cast iron fire place, which created a cosy atmosphere. Had our little dog with us. We loved it.
Beautiful setting, loved waking up to see nothing but trees and a beautiful view. The place was cosy and super clean. Very close to olinda shops and loved the breakfast voucher that was included with the stay.🩷
The house is really lovely. I came with my daughter and family friends for a weekend. Clean, close to main areas of olinda, tucked away, greeted by wildlife... it was magic
Betty was warm and helpful, the place was spacious, luxurious and clean. Amazing views from the balcony and so much food and drink provided! Would definitely go back!
