This was a well equipped apartment with tea/coffee, etc supplied. Good location, easy to access, parking available in the basement, handy to supermarket, Very clean and spacious. quiet. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer. A couple of the light bulbs didnt work but this was attended to promptly. Easy to contact the management. We would definitely stay again.

Maitland has great architecture from times gone by but many have been or are being refurbished. It is on the Hunter River, so there's easy access to the river from a number of locations. The Maitland Regional Art Gallery never disappoints and I always visit there if I'm there during opening times. Maitland offers a great glimpse into regional Australia. The Family Hotel is a funky pub which offers a great bistro menu and craft beers.

Beautiful suburb with everything you need is in there.
Beautiful suburb with everything you need is in there. Lots of restaurants, petrol station almost in every block. Unfortunately, we feel that the locals are not so friendly with visitors/foreigners come to visit or to explore. They look at us like weird or strange.

Maitland itself has some historic buildings and so has Morpeth but by 3pm Saturday afternoon only the pubs and supermarkets were open. The river area behind the Levee area was a big letdown, just a couple of people with their dog. You have to look down to the river which is not much to look at anyway.

we had dinner at Club Maitland.
we had dinner at Club Maitland. They have meat raffles on a Sunday night. Large portion meals, would recommend. We were only there for one night on personal business so didn't do any touristy things.

Maitland is very quiet.
Maitland is very quiet. A pub we went to - alas we have to wait an hour for our meal (party of 5). Cessnock and Pokolbin are much nicer and a little bit bigger and closer to all the wineries. But for convenience to certain areas, I would not complain. Check out Hunter Valley Gardens, Harrigan Pub, the Smelly Cheese shop and also a chocolate shop in the area

Maitland proved to be a very unattractive town, with little in the way of character and facilities. For a visit to the Hunter Valley wineries, we’d recommend staying in the Pokolbin area, much prettier and a true reflection of a major wine growing region.
We attended a wedding nearby so was handy for us location wise. Good to have a kitchen. Easy to access with a door code which was sent to us via text message just before check in time. Secure parking on site accessed with same door code on driveway entry gate. Woolworths supermarket 1 block away and numerous pubs nearby for dinner/lunch. Cafes a short walk away. Maitland railway station 1 block away. You can hear the trains faintly at night but did not bother us.
Location for perfect for us as we were going to see a band at The Junction Hotel. Shops are around the corner, train station next door (handy for one of our friends). Security parking was a good feature for us too.
The apartment was large, clean, smelled good, bed was large and comfy. I highly recommend it and If I go there again I would definetely stay at this place.
Room was nice and clean and had been modernised. When our air conditioner didn't work in our room the gentleman at the front desk could not have been happier to help and then in turn find us a new room when he realised there was an issue.
Location is very handy to Maitland Private Hospital and Greenhills Shopping Centre
I have been staying at another well known brand name motel in Maitland. I thought I would give the Hunter Gateway Motel ago and to my surprise they were excellent in every way. Location, facilities, parking and cleanliness of the room was excellent. I will certainly be coming back next time I’m in Maitland.
Communication was great leading up to our arrival. Instructions clear for how to get keys and enter property.
Lovely modern unit, with classic features.
Close to Maitland, Hunter Valley and Newcastle.
Main bed was comfortable.
We will be back next time we visit the area
The room was comfortable and warm. The location was excellent and there is pub food downstairs (although a little slow). The hotel's aesthetic was nice and the shared kitchen and bathrooms were sufficient. Plenty of parking in the back. Private sink.
Love the kiosk check in. So easy. Close to Club Maitland City which is fantastic for dinner and close to shopping centre. Ample parking, My go to place for staying when travelling in the Lower Hunter for work.
Totally secure and safe. Room was spacious and clean. The pool was clean and we enjoyed our swim. It was close to the shopping centre and the Maitland city club for food. Not far to several wineries.
This motel is like a four-star hotel. I cannot explain anything except the wifi low speed. The room is clean and comfortable. The wall window faces the yard, which makes the room bright.
The Quest was clean and the staff were helpful at all times. The initial phone conversation after booking was a nice touch, just to be sure my booking was confirmed.
The bed was comfortable. The room was a good size and was well appointed. The room was clean. The hotel had character. The meal at the restaurant was excellent.
The Family Hotel is located conveniently in the middle of Maitland. It has plenty of off-street parking. Our room was very clean and had a comfy firm bed.
