It was only one night stay and a place to lay our heads. I liked that there was a laundry facilities, and block out blinds. We got a message that the pool had been removed and a temporary camp kitchen put in to us. But as we were only staying one night we didnt use.

Late check in at 11pm was convenient and communication was good at first. Parking was close & right in front of the room. Entered the room, smelled like an ashtray. All we wanted was a decent place to sleep & Immediately saw a cockroach on the wardrobe and on the wall. I was too grossed out & could not bring myself to sleep in the room, so i literally slept in my car. I was able to contact booking.com customer service since that's who i booked the room through, i was able to speak to someone promptly and they said they would contact the hotel themselves to request a refund of some sort. I also tried to contact management first thing in the morning but apparently reception does not open until 2pm, that's helpful! Weird hours for a front desk. Never got a refund or even a partial refund and never even received a response from management and booking.com never received a response from them either.
Booking.com was good they did the right thing & sent me a partial refund on their own dime since the hotel did not take responsibility.
The water pressure in the shower was actually really great, i figured i should try to at least get my money's worth if i couldn't even sleep in the room due to it being infested with cockroaches. but guess what? there were NO towels in the room, not one. I was glad i conveniently had towels in the vehicle i had because i was on a road trip!
I recommend this hotel if you like paying money to sleep with cockroaches. Yuck.

Gladstone is a great commercial and industrial hub and there are plenty of attractions to visit.
Doing your own exploring is the way to go here as if you have a rental car or motorhome there are short excursions you can make easily within 1 day.
Nice eateries, clubs, pubs, or malls to shop for your own tastes.
If you are looking for luxury prpbably wouldn't suit but for having a laid back no hassle holiday Gladstone is great.

Gladstone is an industrial town, but they have lots of facilities along East Shores particularly for families. There is a range of things to do with places like Tannum Sands a short drive. There are a range of food options to suit all tastes within the city centre.

On the first night we arrived after a 6.5hr drive and advised we could eat at the Oakes, so why not! The Oakes and Vine Restaurant dinner was 4.9/5 compliments to the chef and crew. Hadn't eaten all day but that Red emperor was cooked to perfection and my husbands T-bone was perfect med-rare and soft. It was great to see that Gladstone was really such a family friendly place, given the parks, marina area with bbq's and generally people just out and about. The cleanliness of the town itself was immaculate as were the parks so council are doing a great job. Went to get a gift as it was kind of last minute trip and found what I wanted as the shopping centre had everything we could have asked for. Thanks Happyrock for a great weekend!

Gladstone is an interesting town.
Gladstone is an interesting town. It is quite big and well laid out. We went to the lookout and found it very interesting. The foreshore around the marina and the park at the marina are beautiful.

There is basically nothing to do in Gladstone.
There is basically nothing to do in Gladstone. We stopped here overnight while coaching up the coast and wished we didn’t stop. Struggled to find activities to do while killing time. Also didn’t feel very safe as travellers here.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Good location and walking distance to the Yatch Club and East Shores Park. We had dinner in the Motel's bistro and the meals were tasty, huge and we didn't have to wait long to be served our food. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the bed wasn't to hard, which was a bonus! The view from our room wasn't too bad either! Next time we're in Gladstone, we'll stay at Gladstone Reef Hotel Motel again. Thank you to the wonderful staff, for our lovely stay 🙂
very old hotel but has been done up nicely was in a great position for all amenities and the staff are very lovely the only thing is that the water pressure in the shower was weak at night but strong in the morning and the bed was a bit hard but liveable, would stay again if I came back to Gladstone.
Everything else's great, was a great place to relax and had the best seafood on the wharf
MJ is a lovely lady! Very friendly and attentive, Beautiful smile and sparkling happy eyes of a genuine soul. She wanted everything perfect for our stay and it showed!
We will happily come back to see and support your new endeavor, MJ!
We definitely recommend this place to anyone that is traveling to or through Gladstone!
Until we meet again, take care!
Best wishes!
Whilst being an older style Rydges, It was very clean and the twin room was very spacious. The beds are sooo comfortable. We had a great harbour view and the staff were wonderful. It’s in a great area, walking distance to clubs, hotels and the East shores area. Also a Thai and Phillipino restaurant right next door. Already planning my next stay there!
On line does not tell you this is a mix apartment/ hotel. Nothing said that the staff leaves early Saturday and Sunday, arrived at 4:45 pm on Saturday. Never email me the box code. Kitchen was closed Saturday morning until they arrive. This should be mentioned on web site. poor representation. I could not recommend this place.
We stayed here for 4 days. On check in the staff were very friendly. The chip on our bankcard didn't work so the hosts gave us a tip... and it worked. 😂 loved our room which was upstairs, it was quiet and comfortable. When visiting Gladstone again we will definitely book here. Great value for money.
The outside chairs and carpet look dated BUT the rooms are surpringly nice, well conceived, clean and comfortable with a large, modern, sparking bathroom. The manager is easy to contact and the location convenient and easy to find. One of the rare 'better' motels.
Cleanest place we've stayed in on our trip.
The rooms are spacious with a high spec
Central in Gladstone
It's our second time staying here and we weren't disappointed.
We checked in Christmas Eve and the lad on reception was so welcoming, an assett to the Oaks
My stay at Gladstone Palms Motor Inn was nothing short of exceptional. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming retreat in Gladstone. I look forward to returning on my next visit to the area.
Location, love the larger frig than most hotels offer, comfy recliner, lovely helpful receptionist. Was refreshing change from the other more hotels. Exceeded expectations for the price!! Definite recommendation
Close proximity to central Gladstone and East Shores. Will also be close to the new Wards Brewery being built in Auckland St.
Also, peaceful location with view out to the islands...
We were up for hockey and loved how close to the Gladstone hockey grounds. We could walk. The room was lovely. We were actually upgraded due to an error in our booking.
