We were a family group os 5 adults and 5 kids (ranging from 14-5 years old). They loved being able to roam free and safely in the large area around the chalets, and went off on adventures. For adults, we especially loved the amazing views of the river and the sunsets; the peace and quiet; the birds, and of course visiting the Quagga and other animals on the game drive. An easy journey from Cape Town, and we did a good day out to Langebaan area too. Excellent stay. Thank you all.

An easy journey from Cape Town. We love the location and the surrounds of Lermitage Quagga Lodge: right by the beautiful Berg River with rustling reeds, amazing sunsets, lots of birds and of the course the wonderful quagga and other wildlife. The accommodation was excellent. We were 5 adults and 5 kids (aged 14-5) who could roam freely and safely around the chalets. A wonderful few days.TM - 8.0Scored 8.0

We had amazing hikes along the beach walking from St Jacobs Bay in the direction of Paternoster. Had lunch at Russels on the Port and Dinner at De See Kat in Paternoster. Both were really nice, Paternoster's restaurant more upmarket.

Velddrif is a quirky town with a lot of character and magnificent bird life. If you are a nature lover you will adore Velddrif. We stayed just past Velddrif in Dwarskersbos which, although its a little further out of town, had the most beautiful beach with millions of little shells. Great little town for a weekend getaway or longer! Ideal if you enjoy fishing and there are many pubs and restaurants :) We liked the place we stayed in, all the standard conveniences are there - note no tv so take your laptop if you need entertainment - wifi is good! Everything was great, except the braai for the studio was a bit small, but we made it work! Although mostly quiet inside, you are next to a busy road so tend to be noisy outside. Cute garden and gazebo for when you braai or want to relax :) Do check out Bokkomlaan which is close, and have nice views and cool little shops and restaurants.Jedi - 10Scored 10

All one needs is available for shopping and dining, small boats offer lagoon outings, there is a tourist information available, sometimes the smell from the fishing industry is noticeable, outings into the neighborhood are ~ 20km away, we travelled during March with pleasant weather.AAnonymous

The room was very clean and spacious, with our car parked in the secure parking bay. The River Tide House is located on the river bank, this allows for interesting walks or canoeing. The accommodation is facing West and is perfect located for sunset drinks. Planning a Barbeque is easy as there are three separate braai areas. At low tide you can even walk along the river bank to Russel's Hotel or Charlies Restaurant, Brewery & Gin.AndreSouth Africa

The location of Joan's Place is in a lovely quiet street close to the timeshare complex at Port Owen and the marina and yacht club.
