Van Buren is like a city that forgot how to be a city.
Van Buren is like a city that forgot how to be a city. Vacancies abound in the downtown, streets not very clean at all, "Old Town" just barely occupied, parks lacking charm. The residents seem to be plodding, rather unfriendly. Sorry to be such a wet blanket on Van Buren...it's redeeming grace is that it's a very convenient stopping point for a long south to north driving trip.

Great little Italian restaurant there. Accommodations were welcome, but not at all a reflection of the expensive price. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but basic. The amenities were scarce. Not much soap. Staff was knowledgeable of the area's restaurants and was helpful to steer us to the kind of food we were wanting. Great location. Easy on/off Interstate ramps. If you didn't want the usual motel breakfast, McDonald's was close and a gas station was conveniently near.JeanaUnited States
