Rhonda is probably the warmest and kindest host we could have ever met. The house is happily situated at the top of a hill. The room is super comfortable and the house is with details of early 20s. We've encountered 3 cats, all curious or tolerating (with our kid around and poking). The breakfast is superb, and Rhonda's coffee is perfect for the morning. We enjoyed our stay very much. We certainly hope we'd come to Sonora and visit Knowles Inn again soon.

Charming little foothills community.
Charming little foothills community. Interesting street fairs and events. Having been there at Christmas time I can say that it is very charming, and summer is event-filled. Sportsman Cafe offers a tremendous breakfast and homey service.

PARTY CENTRAL at the hotel
PARTY CENTRAL at the hotel LOCAL DINIG WAS LIMITED - the nearby pub was sold out of many items like 6, at 4PM. the restaurant next door was not open until 5pm and the menu was all online, but it was yesterdays menu. We ended up at the Mexican restaurant and it was good enough but not really what we wanted.

Twain Harte is a wonderful place to visit. We were there to buy a home. The forest and lakes are wonderful and there is always .something to do or go and see. We also have a gold claim near Twain Harte and the men in our family always enjoy mining.

Twain Harte is an average small town, there are not a lot...
Twain Harte is an average small town, there are not a lot of shops just a few and a few good restaurants, It is located in the perfect location with a short drive to many lakes, Cover Apple Ranch, Casino, Hiking, Rafting lots and lots of things to do like my favorite ski area Dodge Ridge is never too crowded. Large Ponderosa Pine and Oak mix just at snow line, Sonora is near by and is seeing a resurgence in new shops and eye pleasing window shopping, Lots of variety in food near by. Twain Harte is a quiet, relaxing family summer vacation spot. If you are looking for fancy, this is not it. Twain Harte has a wonderful, down to earth, fun, family feel in a beautiful Alpine setting. Love the locally-made 18-hole mini golf course! Easy walk around town to good coffee and eateries. Short drive to lake recreation.

The hotel is close to everything in Twain Hart. The evening was quiet and we watched several families walking and enjoying the snow cones from the shop nearby.
