The Willamette Falls Overlook along I-205 in West Linn...
The Willamette Falls Overlook along I-205 in West Linn offers a stunning panorama of two of Mt. Hood and Willamette Falls. Also there is a trail along the river starting from the Best Western Hotel and into Clackamette Park - about a 1.5 mile loop.
Had dinner at the Rivershore Bar & Grill in the same building as the Best Western hotel - the food was good and service was great!

Cute town with a funky post-industrial vibe.
Cute town with a funky post-industrial vibe. OC is on the verge of a tourism-driven recovery. With the planned revitalization of the Blue Heron Paper Mill industrial site, downtown OC should provide scenic access to a restored Willamette Falls. At the moment OC is kind of post-apocalyptic, with the decaying industrial infrastructure around the Willamette Falls giving the town a frayed-at-the-edges air, but you can tell the city is trying hard to make the shift from an industry-driven economy to a post-industrial service and tourism-driven economy. But even now, the city is compelling, with the historically significant Willamette Falls, the locks and mills. Be sure to visit the surprising and amazing Municipal Elevator, which takes pedestrians from the charming residential community at the top of the bluffs to the industrial area by the river. Totally cool 1950's era modern design. Super friendly elevator operator. Must see!! I didn't get a chance to explore the funky shops and eateries downtown, but will be sure to visit next time I'm in the area.
A slight view of the river which was nice. Most of the time there it was relatively quiet. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. The front desk folks were absolutely incredible and very accommodating. There was a security concern in the night and the person at the front desk kept an eye on things through their cameras to make sure everything was OK.
I was in Oregon City during a terrible and scary ice storm. The hotel was full of people like me stuck because of the storm. They did everything possible to keep the restaurant open. The room was a comfortable temperature. There were even some parking spaces undercover, which was great for me as I was in a rental and had no ice scraper!!
We stay at this hotel for its location and amenities. We have stayed there numerous times and it seems the last two visits were below standards. This last room was not acceptable at all. It felt dirty, furniture was stained and we upgraded to this room! The staff checking in was subpar but the AM was very friendly.
We asked for room cleanup and towels at 9 Am. The cut off time was 11 am. We got back to the hotel at 9 pm. The room wasn’t done and we had no towels.when we first arrived card keys did not work. Got new ones and they didn’t work
