Hampton Inn Mountain Home, hotel in Mountain Home

This hotel is within walking distance from Village Mall Shopping Center and 1.5 miles from downtown Mountain Home, Arkansas. It features an indoor pool and rooms include a microwave.

I arrived at the hotel and was impressed by the appearance of the hotel. After check in I noticed that the fridge didn’t work, the tv didn’t work and the remote didn’t work. I grabbed the phone to call the front desk and you’ll never guess what else didn’t work. Spoke to the front desk about the tv and the remote and found that the fridge wasn’t plugged in.I went to dinner and came back, now the tv and remote work but still no phone. After all that was done the first night was “ok”. That was the best night. Night 2 seems fine till 1:00 am when I’m awakened by what sounds like white noise or radio static. I can’t locate it because it’s intermittent. However it’s loud enough it wakes me up at 3 other times before 5am. Finally I decide to just get up and start my day. When I get back from class that evening it’s loud and obvious. It’s the fire alarm. The front deck informs me that I should try to take the fire protection equipment off the wall and remove the batteries to make it be quiet. Knowing that is a fire code violation and explaining that to her she then offered another solution. “What about wrapping it in towels so you can’t hear it?” Seriously??? That’s just as bad. They claimed that the hotel and “the one next door” were both booked. Maybe they’re owned by the same company even though it’s not a Hampton. She takes my cellphone number because the hotel room phone don’t work, but never offers a solution. I walk down to the front desk and even show her the video. She says she’s going to locate me another room and call me back. No call back. I spent night three laying awake all night long because it’s too cold outside (26° f) for me to just sleep in my truck in the parking lot. Not a wink of sleep all night. This morning I check out and advised the clerk ( a different woman) that they really should get the room checked out before it’s rented again.

Here is my opinions on the area. It is beautiful.

Here is my opinions on the area. It is beautiful. You are within minutes of driving distance to two beautiful lakes and a gorgeous river. However, everything on the weekend closes very early, especially restaurants and bars. We were looking forward to a fun night out, just my husband and I, found a cute bar on the square called Raaps Brewery and grill. Amazing food and amazing drinks. Very cool venue. They had live music that we had just made the last of it. However they closed at 10. Which was crazy. So we searched for somewhere else to go and there was Buckets, which is great if your a couple guys and into sports, not real classy. There was a bar kinda out of town named Aces I believe, they were packed and full of rowdy college kids and a younger party crowd. Then there was the Mill tavern which has a small bar area, and mostly full of the older crowd exchanging fishing stories. Had a few bikers in there, which normally would be our kind of crowd, but we were looking for a low key. classy, semi formal place to sit down and have a drink which is not available in this town. If you are looking for a very dressed down, average place to drink and have fun. Perfect. There is not anything on an upper scale to go dressed up to on a date night and have a classy drink and conversation. It is 100% lake life living and very very casual. If you want to have a drink I suggest going to the liquor store, buying your own alcohol and staying in. The fun factor is seriously missing in this town. Not much to do at all. There is a bowling alley or two, but other than that it is very much catered to the old crowd and nothing more. We will come back for the lake but if we were wanting an area to get dressed up, have a classy dinner and drinks and maybe a night on the town, this is def not the town for that. It is def a jeans, tshirt, shorts, and flip flops and messy bun, in bed by 9pm kind of town.

The hotel is to close to the main road.

The hotel is to close to the main road. I could here the hot rod type of traffic and big 18 wheelers when they used the air brakes which woke me up. The only thing that bothered me was the breakfast was lacking. The juices and coffee were fine and they had cereals to eat and waffles to make. The muffins and some kind of breakfast burrito was terrible. There should be hot eggs, gravel and biscuits. But the front desk was very nice. The room was fine. The noise from the main road may be just bad luck for me. overall it was fine for the money.

The people of Mountain Home, Ar are definitely interested and amazing to see me and my family have a blessed blast of a time with everything there, such as food, Walmart for trout fishing supplies, and the people who live there.

Hotel is not where GOOGLE directions say it is!

Hotel is not where GOOGLE directions say it is! We went round and round, finally called hotel who said it's right by Burger King. Mountain Home is lovely and has some nice thrift shops if you like that sort of thing. Also lots of different places to eat, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell, SEVERAL nice diners, that was great. Yes and a Walmart! Lots of lakes nearby, if you are a nature lover and like to walk on trails in the woods, it's great. Beautiful countryside to enjoy.

    This place is a dump.

This place is a dump. Smelled so bad of disinfectant you couldn't breath. People partying in the parking lot and very shady clientele. We left and stayed somewhere else. We couldn't even stay one night in this hole.

I use to live in Flipping.

I use to live in Flipping. Visiting and noticing the growth of MTN. Home was nice. The irritating part is that everything is closed on SATURDAY and Sunday so if a traveler has issues like car trouble their are NO options available.

Location Price Accommodations Access to town, community and places to care for your all your needs. This is definitely the place to stay. Then there is the staff who are all very kind, helpful, patrons who also have great senses of humor. Lol. They make you feel like your home away from home, like extended family if you may... I can't say enough... This place and staff have more than met my expectations and I am grateful to them all.

The kids love the pool here & it has a really neat old school meets updated vibe . The hosts were very accommodating and friendly , even when I asked to switch rooms & I appreciated that . Considering the prices of other hotels & reviews in this area , you get what you pay for . Is it a 5 star hotel , no . But it worked for what we needed at the time . Pricing for the area & with an indoor pool was fair .
