We came to Macon for the cherry blossom festival.
We came to Macon for the cherry blossom festival. My wife had wanted to attend for a long time. It was her birthday so we decided to celebrate with the festival. Well we were very disappointed. The work up the site listed did no way match what was given. The festival was a carnival or fair at best. Over priced vendors “20$ for a 12 oz drink and bag of cotton candy “. The entertainment was good but didn’t last long. The parade was very disappointing. Floats consisted of people pulling wagons with people in them. I would not recommend going to this. Price was really great for a one night stop over on the way...
Price was really great for a one night stop over on the way to Florida and if coming from Michigan it is 2/3rds of the way so reachable before dark. Everything you need and nothing you do not but do not try to find it without a GPS directing you as it is really back off the main path.

Just an overnight stay on the way north. Staff was wonderful and helpful. It is under renovation, but there was no noise of inconvenience because of that. They still have a couple of kinks to work out, but a beautiful place to stay. Very quiet and comfortable. There were no instructions on how to get the tv to work, but the housekeeping lady was in the hall and she gave wonderful instructions and was very nice. Would definitely stay there again!

Macon is not a good city.
Macon is not a good city. The hotel staffs are mostly rude and disrespectful. There is nothing to do. The restaurant’s are mediocre and dirty. Construction everywhere. Most definitely will not go back there. This city has nothing to offer.

Short, overnight trip to Macon in order to visit The Allman Brothers Band Museum ("The Big House") and the H&H Soul Food Cafe (significance to the early days of the band and beyond).
