No real issues. We’d been on the road for 400 miles. I was planning to stop soon for the night. I’d stopped to refuel at a Loves Truck Stop when I spotted several nearby hotels. I pulled Jasper, Alabama up on Booking.com. The Sleep Inn immediately across the street from the truck stop had the highest reviews on average, 8.9. I now believe that many of the reviewers were truckers, and, yes, if one had been sleeping in a truck for a few days I could see how it would seem worthy of a high rating. I found the place to be on par with a dated Days Inn.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I have stayed at red roof inns before and was not very impressed. This one was different. The rooms were immaculate and the beds comfy.

Nice and clean. It was recently renovated and looked real good.
The facility was fine! Our second stay. The night desk person was rude, smug and dismissive. First our refrigerator in our room had been left open all day and was warm so we went back downstairs to change the room She said that was the only king room available and could give us a refund. After asking her again she said she had a king handicap accessible which we took. Then she rudely said she was “just trying to keep the hostility down as much as possible”. Way out of line I believe. Too bad! We would have loved to stay there again.

The hotel staff, hotel room I have no complaints.
The hotel staff, hotel room I have no complaints. It is the property location, there a drug dealers and drug addicts walking all over the place 24/7. There is a “cheaper” motel pretty much on the same site, I believe they come from and to there. I almost want to ask for a refund, or Mabe a FREE night or two, for the simple face I could not sleep with our hotel door getting banged on in the middle of the night by someone wanting to sell me FEYTNAL and something called Roxy’s. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone until they got the drug people kept away. Also, I almost FELL off the rail on the backside 1st floor! The railing by the hotel room doors are TIED on one end and it’s VERY loose. I would have went SUED if my child was to get hurt over the laziness of the staff who are over the safety of the guests. As a matter of fact, I am REQUESTING a complementary night or two to make up for my horrible experience. Thank you.

The condo is spacious, clean & comfortable.
The condo is spacious, clean & comfortable. We cooked every night & grilled by the pool. Beds are comfy & the view is spectacular. We spent mornings & evenings on the balcony. The dedicated, covered boat slip was perfect for my brother n law to bring his Mastercraft for us to play on each day. The condo is only about 11 miles from large grocery stores in Jasper. There is a marina just across the bridge & you can launch your boat & park your trailer there for $10.

We didn't see Jasper at all.
We didn't see Jasper at all. We just needed a place to sleep and eat. Unfortunately the timing of the pandemic kept us from eating in a restaurant, which we would usually have looked forward to. Arby's came through for us though!

We enjoyed the local establishments especially in the downtown area. We also enjoyed visiting a couple of the antique shops in Jasper. Most of all we loved the friendliness of all the locals we encountered on the trip. Being from Arkansas i am a firm believer in southern hospitality and Jasper didn't disappoint.
