The drive to the property rewards you with a good view in a peaceful setting on the outskirts of Homer bordered by nature.
Our bedroom was the original cabin which is now connected to the main house by three indoor steps up. In the bedroom, two comfortable armchairs face the picture window where sitting and gazing at the view is a pleasure. A curtain provides privacy between the bedroom and bathroom in case Anna is setting the dining table for breakfast in your private living-dining room. Your own house entrance leads onto a deck overlooking the front lawn where, at night, star gazing is a delight when the sky is clear.
We gave Anna our breakfast wishes when we first arrived. The next morning, a surprise entrance of toast with local salmon followed by sausage (his), bacon (hers), eggs how we wanted them, toast, a special homemade relish, and a homemade cookie with berry filling made breakfast a real treat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our interesting conversations with Anna and Byron. It was a pleasure to meet them. Many thanks for a great stay!
Perched on a hill with views of Grewigk Glacier, Kachemak Bay and surrounding mountains, this Homer B&B features a full breakfast and a hot tub. Homer city centre is 6 minutes' drive away.

I've been here lots of times, which speaks for itself.
I've been here lots of times, which speaks for itself. The whole town atmosphere is welcoming. It's just a nice little town. I love the Spit area. I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't. I got my exercise walking up and down the trail that runs most of the length of the Spit. I look forward to eating at La Baleine. I love the Salmon Sister's shops. I love the beach for just walking along it and watching for sea life and beach combing. And the sunsets can be so amazing.

Homer is a major charter fishing destination.
Homer is a major charter fishing destination. We were there before the main tourist season began. Crowds were not an issue. We had mild weather and a beautiful sunny day where we could see the entire area.
The Lands End restaurant was excellent.

Seaside location.
Seaside location. Great for fishing, hiking, wildlife sights (bears, moose, pheasants, whales, puffins, otters). Famous for halibut and salmon fishing charters. Surrounded by wooded hillsides, mountains with glacier, excellent restaurants, locally farmed oysters.

Very pretty area which we didn't take full advantage of.
Very pretty area which we didn't take full advantage of. A great Marine research center with great displays. However unless you utilize boats to the state park and or for fishing, you are left with a pretty town of tourist shops and restaurants(on the spit) Not enough to capture my attention for a return trip.

Homer is one of my favorite places to visit every summer.
Homer is one of my favorite places to visit every summer. I’m usually down there July 4th weekend to participate in the Highland games and try to catch a fishing charter if time allows. There are so many shops and quick bites down on the spit. In town there a couple options for groceries, sit down restaurants, and finer dining along with several bars. If you happen to be in town for the first Friday of the month, many local art galleries host exhibitions with snacks.

Homer is cool, but if you want coffee/souvenir/charter shops...
Homer is cool, but if you want coffee/souvenir/charter shops, just remember that Memorial Day to Labor Day is the key open period. Outside those days, the tourist places are mostly closed. However, there are plenty of beaches, sightseeing opportunities and restaurants to keep you busy. Bring layers as the wind will drop temps even when its sunny. Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (Islands & Ocean) is cool and there's a nice walk down to Bishop's Beach. The Spit is nice for beach-combing.
This is my wife's favorite place to stay in Homer. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The hotel is right downtown in Old Town homer and two minutes from Bishops Beach. You can walk to art galleries and the best bakery in town. The staff are friendly and helpful and you can book a variety of tours, trips and charters at the front desk. The hotel lobby is clean and cozy. Everything is Homer is expensive but Driftwood Inn is near the bottom of the price range and an excellent value for the price.
The owners were kind and courteous. I was visiting my son and his girlfriend as they have been exploring around Alaska in the Airstream all summer. Homerhome was very clean and sat high on a gradual sloping field overlooking the broad bay with spectacular mountain chain with glaciers on the opposite shoreline. The last night stay had a rainbow above the mountains that seem to not want go away. I especially enjoyed talking with the owners journey five years ago from New York city to Alaska.
Location was great, suite was spacious, very clean and modern. Loved having the kitchen and the washer and dryer too. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a place in Homer. Staff and management were amazing - my son unknowingly left all his video game cartridges in the room and they found it, contacted us and mailed it back to us in California.
Juneberry is a gem in Homer. It really made our Alaska trip special having stayed at this incredible bed and breakfast. Marcia, our hostesss, has done a really incredible job with making our stay as enjoyable as possible. I wished we didn't have such a short stay so that we could enjoy the property a little more.
Nicest hotel in Homer by far, with limited options there's no better for the price so that makes it a win.
Having just lived in Europe for 12+ years, it's a little difficult adjusting to Alaska standards. This hotel was the best possible option and they are leaps above any others available.
Best accommodations we had in our 2 week stay in Alaska. Helpful and friendly owner. Suggested a room change that was to our benefit. Shared her extensive knowledge of the area. Perfect location at base of Homer spit. Beautiful view. Nice continental breakfast.
The view from our bedroom was incredible. We could see te glacier from there. The host was absolutely accommodating and prepared breakfast earlier for us. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast over any other hotel in Homer! We will be back
The views of the Kachemak bay and mountains were spectacular. It was close enough to Homer for convenience but still far enough to be private. The owner was very responsive when I had a question regarding the TV operations.
Owner Manager attends to every detail of your stay. My room was fully furnished with every home comfort you would expect at a Hilton Hotel but for a “2 star” price…..Most highly recommend for anyone visiting Homer Alaska!
