    Many activities on the lake.

Many activities on the lake. We enjoyed the scenic boat ride and also took a nice walk along the dike. Several good restaurants in the area. We especially enjoyed the Settlers Inn which featured a very good jazz trio. We had stopped at the visitor center and the staff was very helpful.

    What a gem!

What a gem! We booked a night at Silver Birches on Lake Wallenpaupack, in Hawley, PA., while traveling North. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. It is very easy to get to from the Highway. Our room was upgraded and we had a gorgeous view of the Lake. The staff was pleasant and helpful, telling us about other things to explore in the area. After a wonderful dinner at the restaurant next door, we walked back to the hotel and worked on a puzzle in the common sitting area. Had we stayed longer, we would have taken advantage of the kayak’s and swimming pool. A delicious breakfast was included with our stay. I can’t say enough, the whole experience was wonderful!

Have been to this area many times.

Have been to this area many times. Hawley is an older town but during our stay they held Wally Fest which had a band on the lake in the day and a band on land during the evening. Seems like all restaurants servived the pandemic except the Hawley Diner.

The town is nice only you stay in a house or hotel on the lake, or at the Settlers Inn. There are no places to access the lake, or very few. I suggested Silver Birches or a VRBO rental house or cabin but make sure it is on or near the lake. Downtown is dead - except for a fishing store and an Italian restaurant. The buildings are historic but don't have expectations of shopping here. Also - state parks are 20-30 min away despite what they make you think, and the bicycle route is a total joke. If you want to bike, hike or such activities, stay closers to the parks where you plan to do that. The Settlers Inn is the only gem in the town away from the lake.

We came on a Monday through Wednesday.

We came on a Monday through Wednesday. Many restaurants were closed. We ended up dining at the Inn every night, but did travel to Woodloch for lunch on the golf course. Very nice, but I wouldn't exactly call it a resort area.

Was out there for a wedding and to photograph same. So many beautiful spots to take pictures from. But make sure you have all you need as even the local CVS is highly priced. Many supermarkets nearby and if you can stand to wait the Burger Bar next door is pretty good.

A lovely, well-maintained historic inn full of Arts & Crafts era character. Friendly and accommodating staff, and tasty fresh prepared breakfast options. The Grant's Woods area offers a great place to sit outside in nice weather with shady trees and a variety of chairs, tables and lounge furniture. In just a short walk you can reach the small town center of Hawley which offers a few shops and restaurants.

I really liked the stuff, ladies were super friendly and helped us to relocate to a better looking cottage due to terrible mess in another one. The cottage we were supposed to stay in was dirty, had a broken closet, spider web was visible, a lot of dust, outside area was disgusting. It was scary to stay in that area and cottage. They don’t clean at all, windows are dirty, outside area also dirty.

The location was fantastic.Lake view from the window, little rocky "beach access" to the lake, beautiful trail along the lake just accross the street. Hawley 5 min drive by car. Very clean place, fully equipped kitchen, huge kitchen counter for those who like to prepare some meals, comfortable beds. Wood furniture that didnt have any sharp corners which worked really well with a toddler.

Unbeknownst to us the room required you to go up a steep dangerous spiral staircase, there was infestation of spiders by broken window, bugs on floor and broken shower door when you pulled handle it disconnected from door. WORST HOTEL EVER! Filthy and dangerous food at Glass was so horrible waitress looked at dried shrimp taco which felt like last night Chinese food and took off bill

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I needed to check in a little early, and they were very accommodating. The room, linens, towels were all clean and fresh. The location overlooking the waterfalls is really a rare gem. The lobby was a cozy spot to read, with a fireplace, comfortable sofas, and board games. The restaurant in the hotel had absolutely amazing food.

We had simply beeen looking for a cabin by a lake. Wew were met with wine tasting, minivans to musical entertainment venues, champaign at sunset, a top shelf restaurant, plus beautiful picture window views of the lake from our room. This group also owns several other historic hotels in the area. We ended up visiting them all. We ended up impressed and well fed again.

Lukans resort exceeded my expectations. We booked a last minute stay and honestly I was a little nervous. Upon arrival I was so pleased to see how beautiful and welcoming the place is. The resort area is huge and although we could t dine with them, I heard all great things about dining there. I want to go back with my family soon!
