The property was gorgeous and the host were amazing! We traveled several places during our trip and this was by far the best place to stay! The bed was so comfy and the shower was the best outdoor shower!! Love love loved it!

The only positive about this hotel is it is within walking distance to a drive up coffee spot. However, the night clerk was friendly. I hope he finds a better job!

Very cute and quaint little motel tucked away in the redwood forest! Great place. The staff is very sweet and unique. Kids had fun. Loved having their own bed! Next town not too far, where we had to go for dinner.

The Caraway Cottage is one of the best homes we’ve stayed at. The location is just south of the Avenue of the Giants. It is very cute and you can tell the host put a lot of thought into it. We liked having heaters in each room to conserve energy and they work great.
The place is very clean, fully stocked with everything we needed - from dishes, cups, utensils, pots and pans, towels, etc, and we actually had ample amounts of shampoo AND conditioners (without the wasteful tiny little plastic bottles).
The host is uber responsive and we appreciate her clear directions and quick replies to our texts. Highly recommend this place and we would definitely stay here again.
Providing a garden, Avenue of the Giants Pepperwood Place (#2) offers accommodations in Miranda. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. Guests can use a terrace.

Nice place to stay, rooms are clean, My Wife & I was in #6 lower level. I especially liked the Mariner decor inside the room. It comes with a kitchenette, fully stocked pots & pans, utensils, and the like. Gas range top/oven, nice countertop w/bar & 3 bar-stools. Atmosphere is quiet and welcoming at the same time. The brisket sandwich and taquitos at the on-site Pub were delicious, friendly bar tender and locals we shared time with, and front Office/Store Staff, as well. Looking forward to a summer return to enjoy a swim in the river and on-site pool, and maybe a chance at the on-site Karaoke night.

The property is great! Large bedrooms, comfortable beds, lots of soft towels in the bathrooms, three decks of which two have ocean views. The master bath has a jacuzzi-hot-tub. The kitchen is awesome. We stayed there for a few days and cooked quite a bit. Found all kinds of utensils we needed! The host has stocked the kitchen with lots of spices, salt, sugar, olive oil etc.
All the rooms have a lot of natural light. The living room has a set of comfortable sofas and chairs and is a great place to watch shows and movies or just lounge around. The WiFi is reliable.
The property is a short walk away from the small black sand beach. The larger black sand beach is a longer walk away. Both are short drives away.

The hiking trails in Humboldt park nearby, which is the reason to go to the Benbow Inn, are beautiful. There are easy, moderate, and hard trails, so there is something for everyone. The park is clean and there are many picnic areas. Be sure and stop by the Visitor Center to get a map and information about trail status before heading out.
The town of Garberville near the Benbow Inn has a couple gas stations and cafes but unfortunately also has quite a few borderline looking bums hanging out (likely stoned). Although most are likely harmless, I would be hesitant to leave anything in my car to go eat or shop.

Garberville is a tiny little town close to the Avenue of the Giants which is what we came for. It has only a couple restaurants and a nice grocery store. Most folks are friendly, it was a little crowded due to the amount of construction workers staying in town that were working on nearby highway and road repair. I would love to go back to see the Redwoods and when I do I will stay here again.

Garberville is one of the larger small towns in the heart of redwood country along US-101. It makes for a convenient stopover while on a road trip but really nothing more than that. The town is way past its prime. We saw more transients walking the streets than locals or visitors during our overnight stay,

I would not recommend Garberville.
I would not recommend Garberville. Too many sketchy people around, making it uncomfortable to walk around. Everything closes up at night, so only options for food are the gas station convenience store. If it's the only option on your trip, the Best Western is pricey, but clean and safe.

I wouldn’t stay in Garberville again.
I wouldn’t stay in Garberville again. The hotel was overpriced and the hotel clerk was impersonal and seemed to be incapable of doing her job properly. I could not understand what she was saying because she was behind some plexi glass and she was mumbling behind her mask. I kept asking her to speak up but she did not. She doesn’t seem to understand my request of splitting the bill between two credit cards. Checkout was a frustrating experience that wasted so much of Ike time - must have taken at least a half an hour! I’d never return to Garberville as there were too many businesses that were closed.

Garberville is a very small town, and compared to the other hotels in the area, it appears that the Best Western is the best in the area.
Do not try to take your dogs out for a hike in the park, it is NOT allowed.
Location was GREAT! Easy access in and out of Garberville. Some of the furnishing was a little out of sorts but everything still worked out. The manager goes out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed: Towels and like. Very accommodating. I travel to the area about 4-6 times a year and this is my GO-TO spot (Now that we are starting to open-up in California) Simply because of the service...Thank you!
We stayed here as a jumping-off point before our hike on the Lost Coast trail. It's about 45 min away from the Black Sands beach shuttle pickup. There's a couple places to eat nearby, not a lot of selection, and also a couple coffee places and a grocery if you need to pick up supplies. The room was pretty spacious.
Sure this motel is a little bit "dated" but we loved it! Immediately upon arriving the owner came to our room and spent 10 minutes helping us set up the TV! For all those people giving this motel a low rating, maybe you should stay in the Bay area. I will stay here every time we come through Garberville!
Room was reasonably clean and comfortable. When we arrived, we'd been assigned a second-floor room and asked for one on ground level -- quickly accommodated and, though it was an upgrade to a kind, was not charged for the difference. Location was easy to find and nearby available dining.
The hotel appears to have staff shortages as breakfast is take out only and wait staff at restaurant were slow in serving one night due to non guest large banquets. Otherwise service was good.
Dinner menu was outstanding.
Room was clean and location was quiet. I don't consider a business to be "pet friendly" and charge extra for my dog. My dog does not shed, is cleaner than many people, and does not spread the virus.
They wouldn’t feed us even though we were staying at their expensive hotel, even though the dining room was half full with plenty of empty tables. They have no policy to serve meals to hotel guests.
Hotel looks lovely from outside, charming, lots of character, great outdoor seating area.
Room was reasonably comfortable but the beds are quite small queen size with just 1 bed in the room.
It was one of the easiest camping experience you will come across. The facilities make it wholesome. The host is amazing and you can drive down to so many places nearby
