If you're here to fish, the Cobblestone even provides a place to clean and package your catch. But as a trip stopover, the town of Devils Lake doesn't have a lot to recommend it. The main grocery store was pretty run down. Restaurant choices aren't great. Everyone we saw looked kind of worn down and weary. Basically, we were very happy to move on in the morning. We'd really been looking forward to seeing the nearby White Horse Hill National Game Preserve, but it was a bust too, what with the federal law enforcement types seemingly targeting Native people for unknown offenses. The group of youngsters they'd jacked up as we were leaving the site didn't know it, but they were going to soon be met with a swarm of sheriff units on their way from town. Very sad overall.

Went to the casino spirit lake, the whole reason for the trip to devils lake. Would never and I mean never go back. Rude staff not one night but both nights. Here I figured I would give the staff another chance the following night after being treated so rude. What a waste of time and money to go there again for the same treatment. They don’t care about customers at all they are just there to collect a paycheque. Will never go back to that town.SandyCanada - 10Scored 10

We enjoyed fishing at the lake and we enjoyed going to the casino. We had a family reunion at ruger park which is the perfect place for a get together with family. My son was able to go swimming at the swimming pool near the park.RachelUnited States of America - 4.0Scored 4.0
There’s a bad smell all over town.
There’s a bad smell all over town. Restaurants all closed very early, probably due to covid-19. The drive across the lake was very beautiful. If I ever need to stat again, I’ll make reservations at the casino hotel.

Nice small town .
Nice small town . We were there for a family reunion in a neighboring community. Devils Lake was a good base of operations. We loved The Steak House. Excellent fare. Also enjoyed Mr.J and Mrs. J's Restaurant. Devils Lake has quite a number of beautiful and unique homes. One was decorated strikingly in patriotic themes, with gorgeous flowers enhancing everything. It warranted a photo-stop.

The a/c worked ok in the room and I liked the setup of the room it looked cute. I liked the hardwood floor by the door and in the bathroom. The location of the hotel is great because its not far from food places or gas stations. Also, I liked that we were on first floor and could park our vehicle right outside our room. We loved the hot tub and pool. Our room was clean and well set up. We requested no room service and they suggested we put our trash out by the door. We went to the front desk for extra towels, they were so friendly, the service was excellent.
