Didn't get to experience much except casinos due to the time of year we visited. A lot of places were closed. The town in a typical tourist town, can't really see much of the history the place holds.

My husband and I love Deadwood and have made more than 20 trips in the last 10 years. Lots to do in the area including visits to different museums, hiking, ghost tours, shopping, wine tasting, great food, and gambling. There is still a lot that we have not seen and done, which keeps us making the 10 hour drive 2 times a year.

We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned.
We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned. Some businesses and shops were closed and the sidewalks never got shoveled and were very slippery. Everyone that we met was friendly and fun. There was a lot to do and see, next time we'll stay longer. We'll be back as soon as we can, but in the fall rather than winter.

Lots of fun things to do and see.
Lots of fun things to do and see. Reenactments going on everyday on the main strip. The local saloons were great and filled with great atmosphere! We did not have enough time to do any tours as we were only there one night but we would come back to explore. We happened to walk into an outdoor concert that was awesome! It was very easy to get around on the local bus that travels by the hotels. We went to get some coffee in the morning at the Pumphouse which was filled with beautiful locally made glass art. It is worth a quick stop!

Hotel was not very clean.
You had to go into the CASINO for breakfast - not appropriate for children.
Everyone in the casino could see you in the swimming pool - creepy experience.
Signs up everywhere in case you stole something! Nothing worth stealing.
Lobby so small.
Hotel was a good walk outside of Deadwood.

Had breakfast at the hotel inside the Franklin.
Had breakfast at the hotel inside the Franklin. Excellent food. Gambled at Mr. Wu's where they have free hotdogs, drinks and popcorn for players. We were there on a Tuesday night so the town was very quiet. Prefer to go when there are more people having fun.
Our stay in 1899 Inn, was a highlight on our road trip though the United States.
An awesome jewel!!!
Such a beautiful home, lot of history, so confortable, safe and clean-everything just perfect !!!!

Anyone who is visiting Deadwood has to stay at Nyla!!!
Thank you so much!!!
Hotel was kind enough to adjust our reservation due to day late arrival because of the inclement weather encountered on-route while touring in our motorcycle.
Cafe staff were wonderful when we arrived cold and wet.
The best breakfast in town is right!!! 😁
Managed to get the bike parked under cover while it rained all day Sunday.
Easy walk to downtown Deadwood.
Historic Hotel right in the heart of Deadwood, everything is at your fingertips. Staff although limited was great, nice bar to have a few drinks each evening. This is a real hotel from the day, your room will have a TV.
If you like slots and other gambling machines, that is what is on the first floor.
Hotel was exactly what we were wanting and expecting. Not a chain hotel but that was the best part. Clean and staff were accommodating and friendly! The location was a short walk to Historic Main Street and had a trolley available twice an hour right outside the hotel to shuttle downtown also.
The old hotel was beautifully renovated and the room was very comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly, down to earth and helpful. Great location in downtown Deadwood. I would highly recommend this hotel. And be sure to look up the history of the building, it is very interesting.
Beautiful property and conveniently located just a short walk to downtown Deadwood. The management was always checking to see if we needed anything. Super friendly! Loved every minute of our stay and hated to leave! Definitely recommend!!! 5 stars plus!!!
I was surprised at the size of my room. It was more like a suite. A great value.Weird, awkward entrance but no matter.
Restaurant is the best deal in Deadwood. That unfortunately has become a complete Tourist trap downtown. Yuk
Perfect location and they had free parking right across the street which was great because parking in Deadwood downtown can be challenging. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
Cheri was great! And she was very concerned and considerate of our needs and making sure we were comfortable. Enjoyed staying there! Very convenient and walkable to downtown Deadwood. Loved the huge ceiling fan!!
Quiet, clean and comfortable beds

The Hotel by Gold Dust has one of the best locations in Deadwood. In addition, the Gold Dust casino and Mavericks restaurant were also great places. If you want to see Deadwood, this is the joint—easy and clean.
Very comfortable, clean and enjoyable stay. Stopped here passing through and it was the perfect location to be close to deadwood, but still surrounded by trees. Staff very welcoming, restaurant was great.
This is one of the most luxurious and unique properties I have stayed at in downtown Deadwood. My wife and I travel to Deadwood several times a year and this hotel is quite the gem!
