I went in September/October so some of the days were a bit...
I went in September/October so some of the days were a bit cold for just a stroll around the city but there were some mild days. Everyone i met was polite and friendly and i never felt unsafe at any time there. It was a nice time for me and the place i stayed was very central to everything. It was a relaxing stay i would do it again. If you speak the language i can imagine it would be even better unfortunately my knowledge of Russian/Ukrainian was a bit limited.

Zhytomyr is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine.
Zhytomyr is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. Very beautiful old buildings. Great public transport and very very inexpensive. The Aeronautics Museum is there, awesome. Russia would not have their space program if it was not for the Ukraine scientists who were responsible for the creation of the propulsion systems. Very cool museums there.

What can I tell you?
What can I tell you? This is a city of opposites, the city is old and rusty, going there is like riding the time machine to the Soviet 70s. When you go out, to parks or streets, you can see that nobody really cares about maintenance here, and this is sad. There are far too many traffic lights, which is very annoying. On the other hand, people are so nice, are so polite, and very helpful. They are really friendly and I guess they appreciate the fact that visitors are coming to their gray, forsaken town. Prices here are very low, and you can buy whatever so this great place for shopping and the same with restaurants and Pubs, food is great and almost free.
