The atmosphere at the hostel was really chilled.
The self check in is so easy and in the mornings you can have coffee or breakfast in the nice garden.
I even extended my stay due to the fact that I liked it so much. The area has a lot to offer. If you are going to the caves don't forget to ask for the discount voucher!

Divača is a quiet town/village on the railwy line between Ljubljana and Koper. It is very close to both Lipica and to skočjanske Jame. These caves are my favourites in Slovenia, although not to be visited if you have a problem walking.. The park surrounding the caves is very beautiful too. Divača itself is quiet, but has a Cinema museum, which is popular with those interested in early silent films. There area few trains three each day, and also a bus service during the week. Not at the weekend, however, as I found to my cost on another occasion when I drove a friend's car home for her - and then found there were no buses on Saturdays by which to travel back to the coast!, and the next train would have kept me late for my meeting. Luckily, there were others around to heading the same way. While Skočjam and Lipica are open all year, there are also smaller caves in the area which are open only in the tourist season. To drive there from the coast takes about 30 minutes, and about the same driving time will take you to Postojna and the more famous caves there, or to Predjamskigrad, an amazing Castle , most of which is inside the mountain, hence its name - the castle in front of the cave.AnnSlovenia

The dorm room has AC which was very good and you can get a discount for the caves which are literally next door. The breakfast was amazing! We didn’t had dinner but apparently it was very good. There are hammocks in the garden and there is a restaurant serving excellent breakfast and dinner. Hostel Skrla is situated in the village Matavun, about 5 km from Divaca and there is a nice hiking trail from there which I took, both when I arrived and when I was leaving. Besides visiting the caves the 2 km long Educational Trail is worth walking.
