The city itself is nothing special (although it has a very nice park just to the south of downtown). What make Gura Humorului important is how central it is to the painted monasteries. As a base it is perfect to visit the monasteries of Humor, Veronet, Moldoovita and Sucevita.

Despite what we imagined, the city is quite big.
Despite what we imagined, the city is quite big. However, the beauty stands in the places that you can visit nearby, not in staying within the city.
There are many monasteries to visit nearby, there is also an Adventure Park and there are many trails you can take to visit the surroundings.
Also, this is a great place to come if you want to experience great romanian traditional food.

There are some nice restaurans on the main road (city center), very small park, big ortodox cahtedral.... And that's about it. If you step on the secondary roads, there are just small houses... very much like a village. Nothing interesting.
They have a nice park at the edge, ('Aventura Park'), that worths visiting, even though the plant/trees are not well pruned. They have tree climbing section, ziplines, swimming pool, an old suspension brige over Moldova river...

Not much to see in the town.
Not much to see in the town. It seems most people go there as a base to visit the monasteries. It caters well for tourists with lots of accommodation and eating options. Voronet is walkable in an hour, but it’s not a pleasant walk.

It is nice to go in the winter time, for skiing and for the slope. I feel that is not very safe the town in general, but overall it is a nice and quiet destination. I usually like to go up on the summit of the slope. Also, I ate some delicious „scrijele” and „papanași” at the restaurant situated at the bottom of the slope. Regarding the transport, I use to go by train, as my accommodation is not far from the railway station.
You must stay here! This was by far my favorite place we stayed while touring Romania. It was adorable and clean, but the best part was the food. It all came from their farm and was very fresh. The portions were large and if you love cheese they make many different types here. We were able to go with their daughter to milk the goats as well. Did I mention the food, it was the best we had in Romania! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
- newly constructed hotel, about 3 years old, in the center of the town.
- The breakfast was almost ok; enough variety... a little more than 3 stars hotels, perhaps a little less than other 4 stars hotels...
- the room was large enough and clean enough... but without balcony.
- the mini bar was full; nice. But where can i put my own drinks to cool?
Everything.
It has very nice and comfortable rooms with balconies. The rooms have air conditioning.
The breakfast is very good (you can choose from a variety of 4 menus).
The hotel also has a restaurant where you can eat.
It has a parking area.
Gura Humorului is a great place to stay when you want to visit Bucovina’s monasteries.
Was greated by a lady who was on her second day in reception and she was very polite. She was nervous as she didn't know to much English and used translation to help but my partner spoke romanian so it helped alot. The hotel had a great location for centre and was clean and spacious. We could come and go as we please 😊
It was great spending one night there, I particularly liked the large dinning area which could easily accommodate 7 persons, with couch, T.V and complimmentary coffee. A warm, pleasant, clean and quiet place, with parking area. I will always check here first for available rooms when around at Gura Humorului.
The hotel is situated on a busy highway, however if you close the windows you cannot hear the sound from the busy road. It's probably better to request a room on the back side of the hotel if you want to enjoy the surrounding views from the balcony. The rooms were a great size and with grand décor.
La Roata is located at the edge of Gura Humorului. From the balcony of our room, there was a view across the valley, and up the hillside, where there were both grassy fields and houses. It was a peaceful and relaxing place. The room was comfortable enough, and the breakfast was nice.
The hotel is new and everything were stylish and new. Also, the owner is a very pleasant man who even transferred us from the train station to the hotel and back with his car (keep in mind we arrived at the village at 5 in the morning). Well done!!!
The hotel has an elevator, a good wifi signal in the whole facility. Delicious breakfast with good variety of food. A lot of entertainment for kids. Comfortable beds. The girl on reception was very nice even though she couldn't speak English well.
Excellent location. Rooms were renovated, looked pretty, fitting the Bucovina style. Clean hotel, very friendly staff. I particularly appreciated staff willingness and effort to accommodate our family needs.
Brand new and large rooms, well equipped and comfortable and a very relaxing backyard with great views. Quiet area, but close enough for a quick dinner run in Gura Humorului. Highly recommend.
