This is the perfect overnight resting place if you are driving from Portugal up to one of the ports in Cantabria in North Spain. There are plenty of shops,bars and restaurants. Mine was an overnight stop en-route North from mid Portugal. In view of this short stop, I couldn't possibly (or accurately) present an image of the town of Vilar Formoso. I will however, commend the facilities (supermarkets and eateries) just over the Spanish border which make and excellent stop off place for authentic food and wine gifts.

Room P was delightful with a large relaxing area. Room Q was more functional, two bedrooms and a bathroom however we were able to sit around and chill in room P. I think booking both rooms is ideal for a party of six. The village/town of Vilar Formoso is a ten minute stroll away and there are perfectly acceptable restaurants here as well as the restaurant on site.

The rooms were large, clean and looked great. The people working there were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was absolutely amazing - the 2 person steak was fabulous and great value for 30 euros.

Its my fault but I would not have done it had I seen the sign. It's a good transit hotel, clean and spacious.
