Louise from the moment we walked in the door was fantastic. She welcomed us into her home with generosity.
The room is so beautiful and large and full of quality furnishings.
The breakfast she puts on is like a top quality hotel breakfast buffet with more than anyone could eat. Spoilt for choices.
Louise herself is full of knowledge and advice for the stay..Thanks Louise.
Would defintely stay again but for longer.
Highly recommend Fitroy BnB

We were a group of friends staying overnight on our way to walk the Pahi Coastal walk. We booked several rooms and had the whole place to ourselves which was great. We loved the communal lounge and kitchen areas and it meant we could easily make our lunches to take with us for the first day of our walk. Judy and Gerard were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was exceptional. Homemade muesli and breads and also fruit from their garden and yogurt and condiments. Also coffee and tea. The location was very handy as we had cars to drive the 5 mins into Coromandel village for dinner. Plenty of parking

Nice little town, exactly what we were looking for.
Nice little town, exactly what we were looking for. Everyone was very friendly and helpful!
The drive up to Coromandel however, was horrible! The roads are way too narrow for 2 cars, lest a truck coming in the oncoming traffic!

The view driving down the mountain into Coromandel town was spectacular - I only wish there were more lookout spots to stop and take it all in. Pepper tree restaurant was excellent, the tuna on the menu was so good! I wish I had more time to explore Coromandel and go down to the beach. Lots of amazing coastal views on the drive to and from Coromandel town, especially during Pohutukawa season!

It is a nice little town. It has enough shops for you.
It is a nice little town. It has enough shops for you. If you want to cook. Too many restaurants! It has a I-site too. You can go to Colville for a coffee. To the Driving Creek Railroad/pottery. To the Gold stamper. And there are a lot of awesome walking tracks.

Beautiful picturesque area. Lovely little town.
Beautiful picturesque area. Lovely little town. Lots of art going on here. There is a four square shop for mostly everything you need, it’s probably slightly more expensive, but if you consider that everything has to be trucked into the area then it’s easy to see why. Plenty of public toilet facilities. The area just awaits exploration, sadly because of the cyclone Gabriel many of the walks are still closed because of safety issues.

We stayed out of season, just before Easter, so the town was quiet, no traffic, plenty of parking. Cafes, restaurants, facilities open, so we could eat and enjoy ourselves. Loved how friendly it was, staff had time to talk to you. Loved the Driving Creek Railway, both is us are elderly with mobility problems, lovely to be taken up the mountain and enjoy the view. Similarly at the Waterworks, mobility scooter provided free for my husband, so we were able to take our time, read the very amusing boards dotted around.

The town is so clean and a genteel feel to it.
The town is so clean and a genteel feel to it. The walks around the area are sensational. We walked up to the Te Pa lookout, it’s quite a steep walk, but well worth it for the views. At the bottom it says a 15 minute walk, but took me far longer. The Kauri tree walk is beautiful and if you do the longer loop it takes you to Tuck beach it’s not a difficult walk and the little cove is so beautiful, after that just carry on up the hill and the Kauri tree walk is on your left hand side, this will bring you back to your starting point at the caravan park. Supplies cost more here, but when you factor in the length of the journey to the mainland it’s easy to see why. However the coromandel is a beautiful place, but like anywhere else when it rains you can be stuck indoors, so take a good book.

The property was pristine , quiet , well insulated and the bed was better than any 5star hotel. There is a small patio overlooking the garden where we could enjoy a relaxing drink in the afternoon directly off our room. We had some supplies so Louise kindly gave us plates and cutlery to use .
She was an extremely helpful host who provided a wonderful breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, numerous breads ,ham and eggs.
Fitzroy b&b is a short stroll - maybe 10 minutes on a flat road into town.
Hopefully we will return one day soon .
The cottage we stayed in was super cute and comfortable. Such a unique accommodation with such kind hosts. Was great to have high quality linens and fans for the warm nights. Ann-Marie provided excellent recommendations for local eats and activities. The addition of a portacot was also highly appreciated. We loved the surrounding gardens and short walk to local Coromandel town. Would definitely recommend to other travellers looking for gorgeous and unique accommodation.
The property was nestled into a very small town right next to sheep and cows. Hosts and sleeping accommodations excellent. Comfy beds and very clean and organized. You can walk to the town to grab dinner after a long drive. Breakfast was wonderful, we loved talking to Michael he shared a lot of interesting facts about the North Island.
The lodge is situated in the heart of Coromandel Peninsula with great access to hikes and beaches. The breakfasts were superb. The hosts were exceptional, very friendly and offered great hikes, beaches, places to eat and the history of the area. The view from the veranda is spectacular.
One of the best places we ever have stayed.
The location was lovely opposite Wyuna Bay which is out on the peninsula at Coromandel.
The apartment was downstairs on ground level with a further apartment above us.
The bedroom was comfortable with good linen. A deck overlooking the water was lovely to sit out and relax.
The town is about 6kms.
We loved the location of this accommodation, close to a swimming bay and not far to drive to get to the township. The accom has a BBQ and all the amenities for a great stay. The Continental breakfast was a great option for us which we looked forward to each morning. Highly recommend!!!
This hotel is located in a wonderful quiet location with mountain peak scenery. Amiable staff, absolute cleanliness in the kitchen, room, and outside. The territory has a sauna, swings, bicycles, and beautiful flowers. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances and utensils.
Serene location with friendly and helpful host. We chose to stay here after a visit to the South Island with a few days to spare prior to flying home. So glad we found Coromandel. Lots to see and do around the peninsula or just relax and stay close to Hush.
The new owners have maintained the Anchor Lodge charm, but have improved the cleanliness and freshened up the site, as it was looking a little tired on our last visit (2019).
Can't wait to return, as never tire of Coromandel Town and it's surrounds ;)
Room was comfortable, bed was great, kitchen facilities good. The room was clean and serviced each day.
Location of motel was excellent for travel further north and to get to east coast of peninsula. Easy walk into town for eating out.
Coromandel Town is a really short drive from the accommodation and there are great walks around. Hugh couldn’t have been more accommodating and recommended places to eat. Amazing oysters and mussels!! Just a really nice chilled stay.
Swimming pool was awesome. Great place with different accommodation options. Close to Coromandel town (shops etc), walking distance which was handy. Would stay here again. Clean, tidy, quiet.
Friendly staff, comfortable room (had own room with queen size bed), short 10 minute walk to Coromandel Town, nice garden, and shower lots of hot water.
