GEM OF A PLACE HIGHLY RECOMMEND Food was out of this world local produce, beautifully presented and so tasty.
Lovely selection of beers and wine.
Views of fjord from inside (lots of windows) and outside terrace that sits on the water/fjord that wraps around building.
A unique and personal hotel with lots of character and gorgeous decor.
Rooms individually decorated and very cosy and comfortable.
Staff unbelievably friendly.
We did the floating sauna and swim 2 mins down the road and the glacier museum.

Cute little cabin in the middle of nature. We were here during off season so the owner let us use the bikes for free. We were able to explore the little book town 10 min away by bike and the supphellebreen glacier viewpoint which took us about an hour to get to by bike. We also visited the Bøyabreen glacier view point by public transport so traveling here without a car is not an issue!
The private cabin was clean and cozy and the host super nice and informative. We’d recommend this to everyone who enjoys some down time in nature.
Rødseter Gjestegård is a working farm, peacefully located in the countryside of Fjarland and offers views of the impressive, surrounding mountains.

The location off the beaten track but within easy reach of glacier viewing. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Quirky and comfortable accommodation. Made a welcome change from touristy hotels.

Really nice house with a stunning view. We stayed here during Christmas and New Year’s Eve and had a lot of snow, which created a very nice atmosphere. The house is quite new and was really clean. Contact with the owner was pleasant and they responded very quickly. The ski resort was also a pleasant surprise, both for beginners and advanced skiers.

The location was wonderful. Even though it was 9 km away from Balestrand, it was easily accessible by bus. The meals were excellent, the rooms were very clean and the owners were very helpful.

Excellent accommodation, helpful owners and lovely Sauna
Lovely location on the Fjord. Gorgeous. Not a whole lot to do except short hikes along the Fjord, or going on organized tours. In general, it is a good idea to check hiking possibilities on online sites before going somewhere in Norway. When the fjords are very steep that there aren't many easily accessible hikes, which we didn't anticipate. But the walk along the Fjord was jaw-dropping and you can go a long way.
We tried to rent a bike and the minimum rental period was 3 hrs, and we didn't have that much time.( It is a small place so an hour's rental would have sufficed. )
The glacier museum was nice for 60-90 min.

For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed...
For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed glacial valleys all topped by Europe's largest Ice Field, this place is as picturesque and likable as anywhere on Earth. The Glacier Museum in Fjaerland sports a riveting breathtaking 20 minute flyover surround video of the Jostedalsbreen Ice Field. With all this, it's also quiet and peaceful - not overrun by tourist buses at all

Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented.
Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented. One must be aware it is not a modern building and therefore do not expect modern luxury but it is a true experience. Location and views are amazing. Price is too high though all considering.
Stunning location, cannot be faulted.
Comfy beds and wonderful shower and products in the bathroom, even if the shower space was compact. This is an old hotel so had read the reviews and knew that the walls were not particularly thick, so when we heard the neighbouring guests, it wasn’t too much of a bother.
Food was faultless and tasty.
Staff amenable, the guy with the long hair was very sweet, offered to take our bags upstairs as it can be tricky with no elevator and steep thin stairwells.
This is a very special place. From an American perspective it’s more like a boutique B&B. the rooms are all unique. You can sauna just down from the hotel and plunge into the glacial water of the fjord. Our room was a family room on the road side, so a bit nosy with a tractor at work in the afternoon and a couple of morning trucks moving through for the start of a work day… fjord views probably quieter. Fjærland is so lovely and super peaceful.
Many times we are all looking for an “authentic experience”. Fjaerland Fjordstove hotel is a rare manifestation of an authentic home and staff called an hotel. It’s a real gem. Beautiful house located a few meters from the fjord, decorated with restored local furniture sets the ambiance and Inna and her staff fill it with stories that made our stay a perfect one. Don’t miss the talk just before dinner. It’s both amusing and enlightening.
Incredibly charming hotel in a gorgeous location. We had dinner at the hotel both nights that we stayed. The food was delicious, albeit quite pricey. But, this is Norway, and we didn't expect cheap eats.
Superb location – the hotel is near the village of Fjærland and is a walking distance from Jostedalsbreen glacier. You feel close to nature and get to explore the beautiful landscapes of the region.
The location off the beaten track but within easy reach of glacier viewing. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Quirky and comfortable accommodation. Made a welcome change from touristy hotels.
The ambiance was terrific as is the location with view and the way the hotel was styled and equipped was also very much in style. Breakfast was more than adequate, serving freshly baked bread.
Nice breakfast, nice view from the room, large parking next to the hotel.
Friendly staff.
Delicious dinner, vegetarian dinner could have been more special.
Quiet.
A dog is allowed.
amazing! the dinner, the story hour, the hotel, the room, the breakfast — truly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. and the town is stunning, perfect fjord village.
