The cutest little b&b, Boukje was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a delicious breakfast. She even got some local history books and searched for my family in them. The room was very spacious, clean and comfy and we loved our stay!

This reservation was a bit of a rollercoaster.
We ended up booking it since we were overbooked in the house we booked initially, and there was not a lot of choice of 3 bedroom houses with swimming pool access.
Unfortunately, a few weeks after making the booking we were informed that this property was also overbooked for the dates we chose. We were asked if we could make it on another weekend. That was a bit disappointing, but things happen, so we gave a few options that worked for us too. A few hours later we get a message from Booking.com: "We are happy to confirm that the property agreed to change your dates without extra charges!". Uhm, ok. I would have expected at least a "thank you for being flexible" since we changed our plans and rescheduled what was planned for the "new" weekend, but sure, at least it's confirmed and all worked out.
Fast forward to the day before departure. I get an email from the property informing us that there will be a fee for bed linen of 9.50 EUR pp, so an extra 38 EUR. When I asked why this was not visible during the booking process - I checked, and it was still not visible anywhere - I was informed that Booking.com does not allow this and that I am free to bring my own bedding. I have been booking accommodations for years and know full well that it is possible to display this to be visible before booking, but hey, I don't want to argue, I don't want to go through the hassle of seeing if this can be refunded - so we brought our own bedding. This was starting to get a bit stressful, we simply wanted to spend a relaxed weekend away with the kids. It felt like a bit of a rough start.
Then, the day of! I get a message around noon that the chalet is ready and that we can already check in if we wanted to. What a pleasant surprise! We quickly threw the last bits into the car and left, giving us an additional 45 minutes there.
