The host here was one of the kindest people and genuine people I’ve ever met! He went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and to help me find my way around the island, even arranging a personal ride for me to go on a hike on far away part of the island.
Local street food is cheap, delicious and easy to find!
Breakfast was simple but beautiful. Fresh fruit and lovely crusty bun with butter and a tasty fruit spread. Also served with coffee or tea, all served by the beautiful host himself!
If you came to Mauritius just to meet him you would have the most lovely vacation :)

Mahebourg is not at all touristy.
Mahebourg is not at all touristy. You get A true taste of island life. The eateries are mainly visited by locals with the odd tourist. They're cheap & always delicious. I must recommend Chez Marilyn. Blue Bay is a short drive from town & well worth a visit! We stayed for 7 nights which was a few days too long, maybe 4 or 5 nights is enough.

Mahbourg is charming.
Mahbourg is charming. I like city sounds and working people so I found it to be quite charming. Nearby restaurants were delicious and friendly and affordable. Transit is available to most destinations. The Monday market was very interesting. The people were delightful. We loved our stay.

We visited the resort from the UK in March for my Wife's...
We visited the resort from the UK in March for my Wife's 30th Birthday Celebration and honeymoon holiday. Just before the Covid-19 lockdown we were there. All the staff were super friendly and even helped me get special birthday balloons for my Wifes birthday which they searched the whole island for! Special thanks for Linda who was sooo soo caring in making sure we had a great time. Also thanks to all the other staff like Akshay and the rest who I cant remember all their names! My Wife was also surprised with dinner by the beach one evening which was lovely and romantic! She also enjoyed the Spa which was all complimentary as we were celebrating our marriage. Overall we had a great time even though the weather was not always the best and one day we had to stay in the hotel but there was many things to keep us entertained and the evening entertainment especially on Independence day was fantastic and great fun. Mahébourg is a nice place to stay only a few days or the visit the museum of history and the market, good places to eat also good supermarkets can be found. You can take to bus to almost every place on the Island. It's nearby the most beautifull places to snorkel around Pointe 'dEsny and Blue bay. Catamaran trips can be booked a Pointe Jerome. There's no beach at Mahébourg.

After a long flight, the location is excellent, right on the beach for amazing sunrise from the balcony, far enough away from the main road so that you weren’t disturbed by traffic noise but ideal location for walking into Mahebourg or a 10 minute drive to the boats to Ile aux Aigrettes. Connie and Peary excellent hosts, very knowledgable about the area and very welcoming. The Chinese restaurant they recommended was fabulous.

The WiFi connection is very good. There is free drinking water available on each floor. The room is spacious. The bed is large and comfortable. There is a terrace at the third floor with nice sea view. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They offered me free transport to the airport as a compensation for not staying in a room with sea view.
