We've been to many 5-star hotels all around the world, and surprisingly received the best hospotality service in this Hotel during our 2 night stay. It's a hidden gem !!! The view is epic from infinity pool. The food is Michelin level perfect. They light up dome fire while you dine outdoors (evenings might be little chill) there are 2 roms with fire place & ready to be fired up upon your request. They even put hot water bags into your bed during evening turn-down service, who expects such thing in the middle of Haputale :) Definetely will come back

Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to...
Haputale is a small, sleepy Sri Lankan town - as opposed to a tourist town - in a beautiful hill country setting. It is much quieter and much cheaper to stay in than the tourist hot-spots of Nuwara Eliya or Ella, with a range of locally-run guesthouses, rooms and restaurants. The sleepy train station connects it with Colombo, Kandy and Ella, buses pass through and tuk-tuks can take you to nearby waterfalls or the iconic Lipton's Seat from which the stroll down through tea fields is stunning. There are several Olives restaurants in Haputale - Viewpoint was our favourite both for food and a stunning view. If you want a party then avoid Haputale as you'd be bored.JohnUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The trip to Lipton's seat takes about 5 hours round trip but is amazing...much better experience than the tour book suggested. An absolute delight was the opportunity to have tea and excellent snacks while in c the clouds at the peak...for an amazingly low price. Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop.
Haputale is no substitute for Ella it's an extra stop. Haputale has fabulous views right in town and from your lodge, but there is a draught of travellers hang out cafés, while in Ella, you got to hike for the views, the town is packed with cafés and restaurants that makes you want to stay longer. Lodges in Haputale doesn't seem to put people together for shared transport to Horton plains anymore. Almost nobody is going there. I got a very good deal on transport there, but bailed in the gate and went back, due to extortionate entrance fees that added up to $49 for 1 person! - for a 3h hike!!!! - Lipton seat is well worth it though. Go early in the day before the clouds are covering it. The ride up takes you through beautiful tea plantations as well.

If you want to experience Sri Lanka we definitely recommend staying in Haputale. It was very refreshing to get away from the tourist spots. There are so many things to do in Haputale like waterfalls, the Lipton seat View Point and tea factory, train tour, tempels to only name a view things and Overall kind and helpful people..SarahGermany - 10Scored 10
It's a lovely and unique area for trekking and hiking.
It's a lovely and unique area for trekking and hiking. The weather is wonderful, it's a place where the weather changes 6 times a day. Beautiful. Bambarakanda Falls, Diyaluma Falls, Upper Diyaluma, Haputale Mountain, Lipton's Seat, and Horton Plains are nearby places. Adhisham's Bungalow is another unique experience to see the wildlife in night.

The service was exceptional and the staff couldn’t have done more to try and make our stay a memorable one. A good base to visit Haputale. Rather than visit Lipton’s tea factory which doesn’t get great reviews, we visited the Kelliebedde tea factory by tuktuk. No pre-booking required and 1000 rupees pp. Absolutely brilliant tour 🤩 over 100 years old.

It’s a bit outside of Haputale but a 300 rupee Tuk Tuk is super easy, and it’s walkable to the monastery down the street which is a much see little attraction. A+ all around!
