Top notch service for this business hotel. My room was large and comfortable. It was a bit far (15mins) from the JR station but the streets of Yamaguchi are so nice that it was a pleasant walk. Free bike rental service for 2 hours!

A full size bath, and an ensuite large enough to roam around in! Most of our other hotels had ensuites that looked like space capsules and which were designed to make use of every micro-millimetre.... so having a shower meant knocking elbows against the basin which, in these modern toilets, is considered suitably-placed overhanging what passes for a bath nowadays. Not fun for an old guy! But the Royal Inn was obviously designed in the sixties or seventies (the bath and toilet were bright GREEN!), and we were grateful for the luxury of enough room to move freely. Sure, the carpet in the hallway looked as if it was as original as the full-size bath, and the hotel, in ultra-modern Japan, is something of an anomaly. Some reviews have taken exception to its unrefurbished age and condition, but we judged that -- after two weeks in the modern-style hotels all over Kansai -- as its major plus... it is already a bit of history!

Lovely staff and great hotel. The room was pretty spacious by Japanese "business" hotel standards. Really loved the strong, hot shower. Breakfast was also reasonable.

Yamaguchi is like the Kyoto of this area. Except way less touristy and a lot quieter. It has a charm to it that is untouched by urbanization which is amazing 😉 Yuda onsen I would say is the best place to stay in Yamaguchi it has all the best shops and I send and then you can travel from there because it’s centrally locates to most other places.
Great value for money. Great location a stone's throw from Shin Yamaguchi station. Good base to explore Yamaguchi. Good strong showers. The staff were very polite and helpful.
Buffet breakfast was really good - my teenage sons loved the food. There is a free ice machine on the fourth floor!
Really nice capsule hotel, with separated areas to ensure that everyone can rest and have some privacy. I was carrying a big backpack when I arrived, so the staff gave me two lockers without even needing to ask, and without extra charge, which was really nice.
Very clean and modern hotel. The public bath was lovely with a decent size outdoor bath as well as an indoor bath. Rooms were a good size with space to hang things up. Beds were very firm if you're into that. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
Great location and facilities. The hotel itself has 400 years history but the facilities / decoration are new. About 10 mins walk from JR Yudaonsan station and 3 mins walk from the bus stop. Great public and private family bath.
It is quite a new hotel. Although the hotel is considered as quite a decent size for a Japan hotel. Breakfast spread is good and facilities are well maintained. As there were many guests in the hotel, the onsen is quite crowded.
The location was very good. We were visiting Hiroshima Peace Garden and Museum but stayed with you in Yamaguchi.
The staff was exceptional (helping us with dinner reservations, serving meals and tending to our room, etc.).
Compared to the old-fashioned western style rooms, the traditional japanese rooms are excellent value wit a lot of space, clean, comfortable and well-conceived. The breakfast is excellent.

Amenities in the room were good and overall, very comfortable.
There was plenty of space for working in the room.
