Sasebo is literally the best place on earth. No joke or hyperbole. The people are warm, the nature is beautiful, the food is great, there are loads of things to do, and it's a calm peaceful haven in a world that usually isn't.

Live in Sasebo on base. Walking distance from the Ginza shopping district and the train station. I personally love how easy it is to travel to nearby locations as well. Been in Sasebo for about a year and still haven't seen everything there is to offer.

It's a perfect balance between the city and the countryside, with everything you need, and all the wonderful sights to see, especially Huis Ten Bosch, one of Japan's biggest theme parks. Sasebo is a small town, I was made to feel welcome in the local restaurants and bars I went to. The city is in a beautiful location on the south-west coast of Kyushu and there is lots to do. I will go back.

We visited Sasebo with our son who was stationed at the US Navy base 10 years ago. We enjoyed walking around the perimeter of the base and some areas he frequented. Spent only a day and a half in the city.

The view from the windows looked out over the bay which was gorgeous. Breakfast was excellent with so many choices and the dining room looks out over the bay with spectacular views. The hotel sits at the far end of the theme park and has courtesy buses to and from the main gate. Second time to stay here and the hotel seems to be a popular choice for many. You could also see the sea side from the windows in the hallway. The staff are nice and helpful, but sometimes they speak only Japanese. The location is just perfect! As is so true for most Japanese hotels, the staff went way above and beyond always very friendly, always wanting to help a bell boy was always there to help with your luggage. we did not eat at the hotel. We chose to eat out in town but it appears they had a very good restaurant.. there is a family Mart on the first floor inside the hotel that is extremely well stocked!
