The carpet looked clean and the bed was clean and comfortable enough. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. There was no hot water pot in the room but there was a coffee and tea service in the lobby. The room we booked was smoking, even though we don't smoke, since it was all that was available, but this was endurable, since the window was thankfully able to open wide to allow fresh air into the room and remove the strong cigarette odor. The large window also provided a pleasant view of the quiet street and cityscape below, as well as plenty of natural light.

Oyado Yaokyu 1st Floor in 4 Story Building - Vacation STAY 6713, hotel in Ome

Oyado Yaokyu 1st Floor in 4 Story Building - Vacation STAY 6713 is located in Ome, just 24 miles from Fuchu Park and 24 miles from Fuchu Art Museum.

Tetsuji and Yoko were amazing hosts! They were the kindest couple! The sleeping rooms were beautiful with tatami mat floors and rice paper screens. We went in the winter, so it was a bit cold, but the room comes with a kotatsu table (low table with a built in heater and blanket) and it was amazingly cozy. The view from the room is also incredible, overlooking a ravine with a rushing river. In the morning the made us a delicious breakfast of rice, soup, salted fish, mountain yam and an assortment of other goodies for only ¥1000! They have cats on premise, fyi if you’re allergic, they were only with us at breakfast (obviously not in our rooms) but they are such sweet kitties! From Tersuji and Yoko, to the cozy vibes, to the attentiveness and care - It was like being taken care of by my own grandparents!

Nobori, hotel in Ome

Nobori enjoys a location in Ome, 26 miles from Mount Takao and 27 miles from Fuchu Park. The 2-star ryokan is 25 miles from Tamarokuto Science Center.

I liked that it was isolated from busy city Tokyo and that it was super close to nature and the mountain. The hospitality of the host was unmatched, the food dishes were delicious and hearty. I saw a tanuki the first day of the trip. It was an amazing day even when it’s rainy, because you can stay inside and relax.

Shukubo Komadori-Sanso, hotel in Ome

Located at the top of Mount Mitake, Shukubo Komadori-Sanso offers serene accommodations with the great views of mountains.

This is a very authentic Japanese experience! Highly recommend it. The property is Japanese style and the owner was a great host - she prepared dinner and breakfast for us, and it was unique… She’s also super sweet and kind. If you’re only staying one night, I would recommend to plan ahead your arrival (it’s 3 hours away from Tokyo) to make sure you’re able to enjoy a nice hike on the afternoon, as you won’t be able to do a lot during the morning of the check-out.

Ome is a beautiful location for hiking and seeing nature. The Tama river is really lovely, and there are great trails both up Mount Mitake and on the mountain itself. It would be a great place to stay for a few days if you enjoy a hiking vacation.

We stayed on top of the mountain - bit too much for my husband's replacement knee but great views, fabulous food, and superc comfy room. We spent the day wondering along the river , loved the Gyokudo art gallery and did a tour of the sake distillery and sampled their wares in the lovely garden. great fun. 2 days about right for us. Would like to go back and see the river in spate.
