Nikola (the host) was incredibly friendly and made sure that our stay was as comfortable as it can be. Despite us not making any requests, many adjustments were made to the villa to accommodate us as we are Muslims. The place was clean and the view of lake Como was amazing. Everything was provided at the property including a full kitchen, pods to use the washing machine, and even some snacks and vegetables from the host’s garden. Nikola even provided information about the surrounding area and helped with navigating Torno and using the boats to explore Lake Como. We definitely plan to come again at another time. 100% recommendation from me!

It’s a spacious villa for a family of 5. Bus stop is steps away, and the ferry stop and restaurants at walking distance as well. Beautiful view from master bedroom and bathroom window. Bathroom window was full of dust and needs cleaning.

Torno is a small town on the shore of lake Como close to the city of Como itself. It can be reached easily from Como by ferry or bus, although the ferry seems to be more reliable. Torno is small and picturesque which makes it a perfect place for a quiet base from where to visit the rest of the lake. There are few options where one can have a drink or dinner, but they are all great. Right next to the small harbour of Torno, which is also where the ferry stop and the church are, there are 3 restaurants of varying price levels and elegance.
Know that the taking ferries around Como is, while pleasant, quite time consuming. Also, since Torno is a small stop, not all ferries stop there. If you want to spend a more time around Bellagio or Varenna, you either have to leave by 16:15 to take a (slow) direct boat back to Torno or take the fast ship to Como at 18:30 and then one of the last small ships from Como to Torno (This option is faster than the direct ship). In any case, you will be having dinner in Torno as restaurants are closed between 15:00 and 18:00. Thankfully, for a short stay, Torno has something good to offer for every budget!

Torno is lovely for a short stay, but dining options are limited in the evening, and it's very hilly - not for the unfit or unsteady! It is a small village, very pretty little harbour area where the ferry stops, and there are two bars and several restaurants around there. There is also the Ristorante Glavitj further up the village which looks like it was last decorated in the 80's, but the view and the food MORE than make up for it! Best meal we had in Torno.
The cafe next to the pharmacy did lovely pastries and coffee in the morning - we went every day. They also sell the bus tickets which you must have before you get on the bus!
If you are visiting Lake Como in 2022 be aware that the Lake Como ferry that brings you from town to town insist on you wearing an FFP mask to board the ferry. Then everyone takes them off - it's bizarre.
Personally I would have preferred to be in a bigger town with more dining options and a bit more going on, but if you are looking for a quiet, scenic few days and nights with easy access to other spots on the lake by bus and ferry, Torno is lovely.

We were there in November 2019 and even though it was rainy we found the off season peaceful and quiet, easy to get around. The locals more relaxed and friendly with us as it isn't the time of year when they're over-run by tourists. The local "slow" ferry stops in Torno and we soon learned that from Torno you need to get to Como in order to catch the "fast" ferry to Bellagio or Verenna. From Hotel GLAVJC important to note that there is a well lit pedestrian walking path down the hill to the ferry. We made the mistake of walking the heavily traveled, narrow main road a couple of times and it was sketchy in the dark. It is a steep, hilly location, bring your comfortable shoes for the hike. The hotel is clean but dated, with a charming 1960's comfort (we were channeling our Grandparents). Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and a spectacular view of the lake. Friendly, helpful staff. There were always locals in the dining room in the evenings as the food is fantastic. Breakfast is more basic but the assortment of cakes and bakery items were impressive. Ask for your coffee fresh as they do have an espresso machine in the bar. The instant push button machine was awful.
We definitely recommend getting off the ferry and walking around Como, Cernobbio and Leno. Visit Villa del Balbianello in Leno, you won't regret it. This is an excellent value for the price.

Small town on Lake Como low on spectrum of tourist options.
Small town on Lake Como low on spectrum of tourist options. Lots of cobblestone walkways, on the mountain route of Como/Brunate, the Via Regia. A splendid lake side restaurant at Vapore, also a hotel option.

This is a great B&B in a fantastic location close to the ferry wharf and a number of local restaurants. Our room was above the pub/restaurant with a balcony the view was fantastic . Although the rooms were basic they were large and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food and drinks at the restaurant, reasonably priced.

A lovely lakeside village
A lovely lakeside village
Not really suitable for those who find steps difficult
But the hotel can be reached by boat from Comp and is the best way if you do not like flights of steps
Parking car is difficult
Excellent!!!! The hotel features beautiful views of Lake Como, situated on top of a hill and overlooking adjacent mountain tops with picturesque scenery. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and very well furnished! interior design is at a minimum but very cozy and just what is needed. The hotel staff is very accommodating and helpful. Me and my wife had an excellent stay and will definitely recommend Hotel Lago to everyone who wants to have an amazing stay at Lake Como. Thank you! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Giovanni and his wife were very welcoming and helpful during our stay. Their appartement is a little gem in the beautiful village of Torno, the location enabled us multiple activities from mountain trails to boat trips on the lake, and walks to discover the village. The kitchen is very well furnished, and the village store is a convenient place to find some local food. We would love to come back soon!
We stayed in the studio and we liked it! It was clean and equipped with everything we needed for at-home meals.
The house is situated in a convenient part of Torno, close to the small supermarket, the bus stop that we used to reach Bellagio, restaurants, and the ferry stop.
The owners were friendly and helped with directions to reach the house. We even got tasty homemade cookies as a welcome gift!
Location is amazing and the staff were extremely friendly, going out of their way to assist us in any way they could. The room was quite large, but not particularly pretty. However, once you walked on the terrace the lake view was rewarding. The bathroom could also benefit from some modernisation. There is also dedicated secure parking, although it is a bit of a walking distance from the hotel
We liked the following:
The view.. it’s just amazing!
The location; very easy to reach (by the public boat transporting € 3.8 from Como)
The hospitality.. it seems like a family run place with cozy vibes and very welcoming people.
The cleanliness: the place is spotless.
The food; they offer very delicious breakfast and we also decided to have dinner there is was delicious and not expensive.
Lovely and clean, recently modernised. Gloria was extremely helpful and accomodating even of our late check in after advance warning, this went very smoothly and we appreciated Luca coming to meet us/ helpful tips for the area. Loved staying in Torno to escape the crowds. Property is a c 5-10min walk to lake but this was no issue. Perfect base for exploring the lake.
Wonderful host and a perfect place to stay in Torno. It is not directly accessible by car but the host is very helpful and the advantage is to be in a quiet street away from traffic. Access to the lake a few steps away, and to local restaurants. The house is very clean and spacious enough to accommodate a small family. We stayed with kids and had a great time!
The attention from Marco, the host, was great. He is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the bed very comfortable.
The accommodation is just in front of Lago di Como and Torno is not one of the most touristic places, which makes it cozy and magical. In our opinion, it´s one of the most beautiful villages there.
Excellent boutique hotel with a personal experience and a very welcome stuff. amazing lake view from the huge room. convenient and large beds.
perfect access from the road to the parking lot and a very good location just near the shore edge of the lake.Magnificent breakfast - Everything was fresh juicy with local fruits and cheese....
A view beyond amazing; waking up to the great scenery of Lake Como is priceless. The hotel was close to the Como town and had parking spots with a nice garden. The breakfast was by far, one of the most rich ones. The two rooms that we stayed in both had balconies facing the lake and it was a delight to spend time on the balcony.
It was clean, comfortable and the view was amazing. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the boats on the lake. We took the boat to Como one day and Bellagio another day. Easy to do. Grazie was very accommodating with information.
The hotel is managed by a big family. The staff were very nice and helped us to our personal problem. The view of the room and restaurant was amazing. We had the dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was very nice.
The location on the lake was spectacular and the staff was wonderful. The only difficult part was parking and walking down/ up to hotel but that was also part of the charm. We can't wait to go back.
Location, location, location. Torno is absolutely amazing and the apartment is located right in the heart of everything -close to the water and the ferries to the other small towns.
