Mottola is off the beaten track. It's not a tourist town.
Mottola is off the beaten track. It's not a tourist town. It has an attractive setting and views, a nice town square and a small historic area but don't expect Siena or Gallipoli. We went there as a base for exploring the local country and the cave churches (book local tours and guides early). There were lots of locals and good food at the pizzeria La Rotonda di Donvito Addolorata - recommended.

You need a car… but weithin 15-30 Drive You can reach very beautyful villages and cities like Alberobello, Martina Franca, Mottola, … visit Castella Grotte is also highly recommended. Would come back everytime…

Also, the appartment La dimora di Maria is really nice and very clean, so we highly recommend it. We will definitely come back if we are ever in Mottola again.
