I was with cousins trying to locate the birth place of my grandfather, who was born in Guardiagrele in 1878. We found his birthplace and the church he was baptized in; the person at the town hall was very helpful to us. The town itself is delightful! The people were very friendly and the restaurants were all great. I recommend comfortable walking shoes, as the streets are cobble stones and all hills.

A gorgeous little town with plenty of bars, restaurants, and parks to visit. There are lots of interesting churches and museums, and it's easy to walk for a few hours just wandering the streets. The views are spectacular, and the town is in a perfect location to get to other Abruzzese places of interest.

Amazing room and the location is fantastic.

Amazing room and the location is fantastic. Davide was very kind and helpful. I came for work and booked a room for 2 nights with wifi. unfortunately wifi was not available so i had to leave one day earlier and loose the other one night which was already paid for. i wish that the property would not advertise something that they don't have.

We explored many towns in Abruzzo that were more vibrant and interesting than this one. Influencers comments suggest a much more interesting place than actually exists. THERE IS A HIGHLY RATED PIZZA RESTURANT IN TOWN(Sorgente) but we went for lunch and were unable to order their acclaimed item. There is an excellent restaurant just outside town,La Grotta del Raselli which is excellent.

Guardiagele was one of the most special places we have ever visited. It had so many unique elements to it. I really felt spiritually awakened, because there was such a sense of hope in all the churches which focused rather on the wonder and joy of Christ's resurrection than the sadness of his crucifixion. The local people were so friendly and helpful, especially Mariella, whom we met at the newsstand in the main Piazza. Villa Maiella and its two-star Michelin restaurant just have to be on your travel itinerary! As for the town, the 360 degree views, which took in the Adriatic and the snow-capped mountains, were spectacular!
