Very beautiful, levely, cozy city and hotel. Seeing Vesuvio and Napoli coast from your hotel room was amazing!
Loved the views, sea as well as cozy and beautiful narrow lanes. Pompei, Napoli and Sorrento are close - you can get there either by car or train, but Castallamare itself is amazing too: I really enjoyed funicular ride, mount Faito, Scavi di Stabia, street art, nature and views.
Food was a bit of gambling - 50/50 - kind of hit or miss
Overall I loved the experince and even though the city is quite small I'd like to come back there and explore items I didn't have time to explore this time

Our room was spacious & well turned out, with great thoughtful practical facilities.
A stunning Hotel with excellent Dining & Bar - don' miss the delicious breath-taking breakfasts over-looking Mount Vesuvius with gorgeous orange grove gardens below. Situated in a great location to travel to Pompeii & Naples and then along the Southern Amalfi coast.

An interesting area - a slice of real Italian life which we enjoyed after the hustle and bustle of some of the more tourist driven locations. We ate at La Medusa Hotel sampling exceptional gourmet fine dining. There are regular train stations travelling along the north and south coast making it perfect to get anywhere. Local boat trips take you on refreshing scenic coastal tours, however the day trip to Capri was extremely busy with tourists. Surprised to find my original review did not "save" properly. We absolutely loved our accommodations. (Two couples) The view is spectacular up and a bit out of the way. We drove down from Rome airport and enjoyed recovery soaking in the sunset on our first night. The hosts were gracious with our delayed arrival due to heavy traffic. We saw Pompeii and Sorrento the next day then much of Amalfi on the third day. We should have planned another night. So perfect! Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed accept we should have bought a big bottle of water along the way.DanUnited States - 8.0Scored 8.0

The port area is not renovate at all, the outside walls of the buildings are exfoliating and everyone is drying clothes outside the window which is looking very bad. The place is getting very crowed and the driving here is an adventure to escape without a scratch.

I've been visiting Castellammare since 1978.
I've been visiting Castellammare since 1978. Some terrible damage was done in the earthquake of 1980 but the city has progressed past that and is now a beautiful place again. Even better than before. I love the atmosphere and the friendliness xxxx

- 8.2Scored 8.2Very goodRated very good· 24 reviewsit was a spacious bungalow, we rented 2 self contained and it was 7 of us. it had all the utensils and cooking facilities. it was in a close location to the beaches, 15-20 minutes by car, with no car it would not been good place to stay. it had a small pool, and lots of fruit trees which the owner was generous to let us have some. the owner was very helpful and provided us with the charcoal for barbecue and converters for our chargers. in all we enjoyed our stay as we went out all day and used the place to crash in the evening.PoliUnited Kingdom

Salvatore was excellent in meeting us and explaining the area, he also helped us get parking and when it was time to pick up the car, he also helped us out.  it wasn’t a great location, for example, five minutes walking to the train station and about 15 minutes to walk to the ferry terminal.
