Very cute spot in the pedestrian area. Excellent for the via francigena. The bed was soft (you sink into it). Coffee facilities, a corner shop very close for milk etc. The lit-up underground well was a highlight. Lovely and dark for a good night's sleep and very well equipped for our one night stay.

Francesco and his family are very friendly and forthcoming and he is always ready to help out if there are any questions. Highly recommended also due to the absolutely quiet area. Do not be irritated by the commercial area nearby, it is not noticable! Also very good restaurants (local specialities) nearby. My wife and I would come again.

It's up to you if that's an advantage or not. 45min by car to Viareggio, 25min to Lucca, 35 to Pisa. Giovanni is very nice, he surprised us with some things to eat at the breakfast and with 2 Bottles from his owh wine that is really good. Very nice gesture. The hotel was in a good location for me as it was only a few minutes from the train station. It is also just a short walk from the centre of Altopascio. I was travelling by bicycle but I used the train to visit Pisa and Lucca. Florence and Viareggio would also be very accessible. It's a small but welcoming hotel.

They were very helpful indeed - and it is that kind of kindness and consideration that gives you fond memories of a place. The hotel has a lift, the rooms are a good size, and at breakfast there was a wide choice of options including fresh pastries.

A perfect position to visit Florence (about 45 minutes), the sea (about 30 minutes), the mountains (about 45 minutes) and Lucca, Pisa, Montecarlo etc. (all within a 30 minutes range). The wine tasting experience is also a must!
