Overlooking Snæfellsnes Glacier and Breidafjördur Bay, this converted farmhouse enjoys a peaceful, remote setting along Iceland’s north-western coast.

The location was actually pretty nice, albeit a bit remote. Staff were super friendly, loved that they engaged in a bit of conversation. The food was really good!!

Everything: Very new building: large room and bathroom, (we were in a familiar bedroom) comfortable beds and clean. Very good and complete breakfast. Good location, in the middle of the town, close to the harbour and the house light from where we saw northern lights.
Take care if you arrive late in the night because the front door is not obvious to open. Check before leaving. The reception is empty so we had to call the person in charge and he came quickly from outside also.
Luxury beds and power showers are offered at Hótel Egilsen. Baldur Ferry Terminal and boats to the West Fjords and Flatey island are 300 metres away. Wi-Fi is free.

The hotel restaurant was very good. One of us is gluten-free vegetarian and very happy with what he had in the restaurant. We were lucky to have rooms facing north with a great view.

A vry nice farmhouse hotel in beautiful natural surroundings...
A vry nice farmhouse hotel in beautiful natural surroundings with a great sea view. Excellent resturant, very reasonable priced. Ideal for nature lovers and bird watchers. Family friendly. A place with a very interesting history. Ask about the "Bjarni frá Vogi" cigars.
If it's remoteness and nature you're looking for, Vogur Lodge is a one of a kind jewel you should not miss. Situated off the beaten track, you are surrounded by nothing but beautiful nature and all you can hear is the sound of the waterfall in the 'backyard'. Gudmundur is an excellent, utmost friendly host who makes sure you feel right at home. He drove me around the Westfjords during two days, making it excellent trips thanks to his kindness and lovely sense of humor. I rated 5 stars, but they deserve many more!
The hotel is located in spectacular natural settings. Rooms are super trendy and comfy. Extremely spacious. Lobby is decorated with spectacular artwork. Staff and owners are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. A hottub is a very nice bonus too, as a great breakfast. I have my own private rating of Icelandic hotels. I am not sure I should advertise them here, BUT... BUT... I surely would list VOGUR COUNTRY LODGE with my favourites in Iceland.
Hands down our favorite stay in Iceland. It's maybe 45 minutes off the Ring, so it feels utterly isolated though won't actually take you too far out of your way. You're welcomed by the most friendly Icelandic family you'll meet in the country, who have improbably built a luxurious and large hotel at the actual end of the earth. Food was delicious, the hot tub was hot, walking around a joy. This place is really special.
Incredibly helpful staff, cosy room, really appreciated the hot tub and sauna. Loved the walk to the waterfall behind the property, and the total peace and tranquility of the place. The evening meal was wonderful, as was the breakfast. After driving on such an isolated road to get there, we were very, very glad that we’d decided to incorporate it into our “escape from Reykjavik” journey.
Great place! Highly recommended. I was concerned about the road to the hotel, because we had a regular car, not 4wd. However, the road is great 👍. Very picturesque, very good quality, not rough at all. I highly recommend this property. I wish we would stay longer. Beautiful waterfall on a property. The food is great. Best cod fish.
Very cosy, very contemporary and well decorated
Area magnificent and very remote (which is what we were looking for)
Easy hiking path just behind the hotel up a small mountain with a waterfall and breathtaking view over the fjord
Restaurant offered fair price and dishes were very tasty
We were welcomed by a friendly host who was a pleasure to talk to. Great hotel with nice rooms in pristine condition. There is a waterfall just 10 minutes behind the hotel which is nice to walk to. Dinner was great with a la carte options and we also enjoyed a great breakfast as well.
We've stayed at Vogur previously and loved the isolation. We were kindly given an even better room than previous making it an exceptional stay. Dining room is good and an opportunity to meet other travellers and compare experiences in this wonderful country
This hotel is highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff (owner), the room was perfect, beautifully clean, fresh, very good bathroom with wonderfully powerful shower, Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Beautiful location with many hiking trails.
Everything at Vogur was exceptional. We were tired after a long drive and stayed just one night. When we left the next day we were completely refreshed. Food in the restaurant and for dinner was superb. Highly recommend.
