This was a good location. Across the street was a gas station and a restaurant, a few minutes, drive from the community pool. The host was very friendly and helpful. You share a common area with tables in the kitchen. Room had a private bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and we had our best night sleep here.

Amazing sea views. Great breakfast.
Amazing sea views. Great breakfast. Ate dinner at another establishment in town that was very good. If we stayed longer we would have eaten dinner at the hotel. The room was gorgeous. Loved the roof window. It even had a bluetooth speaker that sounded great. We could have stayed much longer if we had the time. Blonduos is a quiet and beautiful little town with much history.

Nice little bridgehead town with various services.
Nice little bridgehead town with various services. A good base to travel from. Various choices of good day trips, e.g. around Skagi and Vatnsnes peninsulas, Skagafjörður district and the scenic valley of Vatnsdalur. Blönduós is also a good staring point for a highland drive across Kjölur to Reykjavík.

The food was FABULOUS.
The food was FABULOUS. Accommodations, though shared baths, were excellent. Not much from the outside, but inside very new, contemporary.
Hostess is accommodating.
For us, it was a one-night stop between destinations.
Absolutely beautiful hotel located right beside the ocean. The breakfast area is so wonderfully decorated and offers a massive window that provides incredible views of the ocean. Breakfast was fabulous; it included a wide variety of meats (included smoked salmon), jams, bread, cereal, etc. Our room was cozy with a very modern bathroom, a couch, and beautifully furnished. We really loved the attention to detail. All the staff were so friendly and inviting, it made us feel right at home.
It was a nice hotel. Has a nice warm pool and hot tub which i enjoyed a lot. It also has a gym (like a school gym with basketball and soccer nets). The hotel used to be a school which was converted which i thought was really neat. Has a lot of kids artwork as well as murals which was cool. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good. No complaints. Everything was great
First self-catering stop on a trip round the E1, and set a standard that was hard to beat. The apartment was very spacious (the largest we stayed in), well appointed and had marvellous views over Blönduós and surrounding areas (the best views we had at our various stopping points). Cooking facilities were good. A really good start to our journey, which set standards later stops rarely met.
It is new renovated and absolutely stunning! It's the oldest house in Blönduós with amazing history. Our host was phenomenal! Breakfast was the traditional Icelandic breakfast but with a flare! Our host had even spotted 2 whales that we could see from our balcony, so we were able to whale watch. You can see and hear the ocean right at your balcony. We absolutely loved it all.
Everything about our stay was terrific. We had a late check-in and it was no problem at all, we were given a great room with a view of the ocean and we had a wonderfully prepared dinner with the hotel's guests in the evening. The room and bathroom were beautiful with an extremely cozy and comfy bed.
The guesthouse Kiljan was wonderful. The owner made us feel at home. We had a very big spacious room with access to a bathroom just across the hall. Dinner and breakfast were delicious with every good food you would want! We recommend the guesthouse Kiljan if you plan to stsy in Blonduos!
Reviews for the guesthouse weren't very good so we were a little hesitant to stay there. But the reviews were so very wrong. It's not a 5-star hotel, but it was so much better. Comfortable with a wonderful mother and daughter who made our stay one of our favorite stays in all Iceland.
Lovely hotel in a peaceful location. Our host Stanley was lovely and really friendly and helpful. We were shown the facilties on arrival, our room was warm and clean. The swimming pool and hot tub was great to relax in. A great place to stay just off the ring road.
Didn't realize it's not a hotel in the sense that there's no 24 hr reception, so we were very grateful to the lady running the hotel for waiting on us as we arrived way after 1AM in the wee hours. Got an upgrade for free. huge batchroom/shower. Wonderful breakfast.
An unexpected layover en route west. The breakfast was the highlight, and also the free access to the heated outdoor pool. The hotel seems to be using the buildings of some kind of boarding school.
Wonderful hotel! They keep this beautiful place in a great condition! It’s very cozy, clean, well-maintained and with a great style of old-times hotel. We enjoyed our stay a lot!
The hotel is a bit outdated but compensates with a good breakfast, friendly stuff, hot tubs and the beautiful surrounding area. Unfortunately no flat irons are available.
the hotel was recently remodeled so everything was impeccable. The staff was weary friendly and professional. the breakfast was really good and our room was beautiful
The hotel manager was nice to accommodated my late check in. I didn't get a chance to use any of the facilities or eat breakfast - so can't attest to that.
