Please people be careful when visiting Golden Temple. I was standing in que to go inside ..the que was 3 hour wait! But worst experience was that we got pushed from behind forcefully! Don't miss the 700 yrs old durgiana temple which is a smaller replica of the Golden temple ! Malls are far away and the main area around the Golden temple is chaotic, dusty and ancient !

Amritsar is a significant place in the history of India and I was very pleased to finally visit there and visit the Golden Temple, Jallianwallah Bagh and the Partition Museum to gain an understanding of the complex history of the time around Independence. As a foreigner born in one of the 'colonies' understanding history is important for locating ourselves in chains of events that impact later generations. I am deeply moved by the tragedy of the Partition and the untold and unimaginable loss. It is important that we acknowledge the past as it shapes our ability to move forward.

The Staffs are very nice and helpful, they helped us in the best possible ways to reach the hotel as the main Road was closed that day. They booked an electric ricksaw for me to reach the hotel after the uber dropped me 1 km away from the hotel.
