This really is a true Boutique Hotel, a hidden gem in the small village of Georgiopoulos. The clean, simple but well thought out design and function of all spaces makes it both luxurious and a haven of peace and tranquility.
Room was spacious, with great amenities.Iron plus board and anti mosquito plug in were added nice touches. Sunny balcony with mountain view, water provided daily. The hotel app is excellent for room service, lunch etc, small but perfectly tasty menu given the size (only 30 rooms) of the hotel.
Breakfast is buffet style, something for everyone with a great eggs menu too. The dinner is a 5 course set menu, which i tried. Beautifully balanced by the extremely competent chef, creative and delicious, all dietary requirements are catered for. Good wine list available, excellent price point. Lovely ambiance, as throughout the property at all times.
Plenty of shops, restaurants etc at a stone’s throw plus 2 excellent beaches.
You can also use all the facilities at the sister hotel, about a 5 minute transfer by shuttle which was available on tap at no extra charge!
A much bigger but still beautiful complex, you get the best of both worlds and i would highly recommend the spa facilities.
A car is needed if you wish to explore Crete more extensively but Rethymno and Chania are both close by, bus or taxi easy to access.
Above all the level of service, discretion and professionalism of all the staff was the star attraction in this hotel for me. They cannot do enough to make your stay perfect and truly memorable. A special huge Thank You to Panos, an extraordinary manager, who’s enormous experience and understanding of customer comfort and relations is exceptional, and to Menia, the “fairy godmother” of reception, such warmth, charm and attention to every individuals needs and requests given with genuine care.
To quote Panos “You arrive a stranger but leave as a friend”. Perfect.
I will definitely be going back!!!

The village of Vamos, just a bit isolated from the main route, provides perfect place for a relaxed getaway. Being quiet place, at the same time provides for all your needs - with it's local shop, great bakery, petrol station and at least 4 nice places to eat, with Τα Πλατάνια barbecue being our favourite, serving very simple and limited choice, yet delicious local food. Despite some ilolation, there's still just few kilometers to the main national road, making Vamos excellent starting point for local trips, like Samaria or Imbros gorges, lovely beaches nearby, Chania or Rethimno

The local beach was Koutalis Beach.
The local beach was Koutalis Beach. Not really walkable, and rocky so great for snorkelling.
Almyrida Beach was the local sandy beach, and is also a busy resort. Nice bars & restaurants, but I would think it would be too busy for me during high season.
The roads are challenging in some places, never a dull moment! Once you learn to drive like a Greek you will be fine!!!

Vamos and the Apokoronas peninsula is a unique unspoilt area...
Vamos and the Apokoronas peninsula is a unique unspoilt area of olive groves, cypress and carob trees surrounded by sea. The village of Vamos is typical of others In the area with traditional houses and an interesting history. Vamos is a lively place in summer with tavernas and coffee shops and a jazz Festival in July. Memorable, relaxing holidays.
The owners are lovely and provided us with everything we needed including much fresh food in the fridge and olive oil. The garden is delightful and we enjoyed our meals outside with a view of the countryside. It was great to relax in after a day out. We loved the location as it was an easy walk into town and we had a car park. There is a local bakery and supermarket as well as restaurants. A lovely local village experience and a tourist office. The bus is easy to catch to Chania from the village square.
We loved the peaceful location at the top of Vamos village. The swimming pool area was great. The appartment was clean, well-equipped, nicely firnished in a rustic style and the air conditoning was great. Our on site host was friendly and any queries we put to through Booking.com were answered very promptly. Overall, it was great value for money.
We loved everything! The location, the view, the area with the local restaurants and the lovely welcome and helpful tips we got from the owners.
It felt like we stepped into a movie for a while- the stone and the AC helped with the temperatures and there were so many places where you could just sit down and enjoy your holiday!
The host is excellent. It is in the outskirts of a small charming old town. Our host gave us great ideas on where to tour, for example Chania, and the best way to get there. He even provides an online walking tour of Vamos, which we enjoyed. Absolutely the nicest place we stayed in during our five weeks in Greece.
Peaceful location, many spring flowers. Our hosts were warm and welcoming - presents of herbs and lemons from garden!. Apartment was comfortable, with pleasant seating and views of mountains. Village shops and cafes were within 15 minutes walk. Beaches and interesting places were a short drive.
We were accommodated in "Vamos Fabrica Farm", 1km outside of the village. It is a nice hamlet of 5-6 houses immersed in the green countryside of Vamos. Our house (Diktamos) was recently restructured and pleasant to stay in. The Fabrica owners are very friendly and helpful.
The property has a wonderful garden that creates a serene environment. Located right next to the main road of the village of Vamos it is very quiet and safe yet it allows you to experience first-hard all the activities and the local shops of the area.
The location was perfect - a short walk to the centre if Vamos- beautiful village. The apartment was spotless, well appointed and the very good quality linen and towels changed regularly. The host was so helpful and was just lovely.
The village is lovely, the place is located quite near to the Main Street. It is spacious and has beautiful views from the terrace. The contact person was nice and friendly. The place had a welcome raki on the table.
We loved the location of the villa and the views from the pool. Vamos is a lovely little village. Close to nearby attractions. Maria who deals with guests was helpful – unlike the owners of the Villa.
House was perfect for our family stay. Look no further if U want to get Greek style vacations. City big hotels are far away from that. Highly recommended place. Property and owner are great 👍
Beautiful appartment in an excellent location of Crete. Stunning view. Spotless clean. Very kind and supportive host. Even in winter some good restaurants remain open in nearby villages.
The property was clean, modern, with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. Secluded enough for privacy and relaxation, but close enough to the village to enjoy a delicious meal.
What a wonderful welcoming family at Vamos Palace apartments! If you are hoping to experience the true Cretan hospitality, generosity and welcome then you have to stay here.
