The peace and quiet and privacy. Large space. Good shower. The kitchen was well equipped and snacks and wine and fruits were appreciated. We were met in person and it was a nice gesture. We had instant contact by phone when needed. The cafeneon in the town square was welcoming and most pleasant and had delicious food. We liked the lemon trees full of fruit and were offered to pick more than were already left for us. The heater was good to have to take the edge off of cool evenings.

What a magnificent time we had during our stay at Earino! The true hospitality from Nikos and his family made us feel as welcome as old friends. The cottage was delightful, the views extraordinary, and the food so very fresh, local, and representative of the region (including their own delicious wine!). We loved the place so much, we’re coming back with friends before we leave Crete to experience this magical mountain oasis again!

Raki upon arrival was kind. Kitchen had coffee to get us started in the morning. Shower had a good overhead flow. Bed was super comfortable. We stayed in a more remote village in a renovated apartment which was done in the ‘traditional Cretan’ style. This place was more IKEA modern. The village itself was also very 21st century. Excellent location for touring the area.

Ideal for a very quiet holiday for family or single/couple.
Ideal for a very quiet holiday for family or single/couple. Only one tavern to eat at. Very friendly. Fresh tasty food. Cheap.
All people friendly. Only speak Greek, so fun trying to communicate. General store has limited stock, no fruit and veg or breakfast cereal. Need to bring own or go to next town. Nice walks and scenery. Only sounds birds chirping and the odd car. If you want to go sightseeing you need a car, or pay a lot for taxis.
