Even though I arrived late, the staff helped as much as they could.
It was a smoking room (not because of the smell, I saw the ashtray in the drawer.) but also was the room with the best view. (402)
The room has a mini fridge, there are two chairs and a table on the balcony, and they provide slippers.

Amazing city - pleasant walks next to the sea, great views, nightlife, delicious food. Restaurants to visit - Zourafa, for amazing sea food, Λούκουλος - with tables next to the sea. You need to make reservations.
Parking is difficult in the center, need to use a paid parking place. You can take a walk on the Apolloniados street that gets closed for cars in the evening.

I guess it is the right city for beach vacations.
I guess it is the right city for beach vacations. Not much to do If you are looking for historical attractions I would not rate Alexanroupoli high. It has a few very small museums. Two of them I've visited. It is possible to walk to them. One at the city center ethnography museum. I'd recommend visiting. It won't take a lot of time, but the atmosphere there is nice.
Also, there is a small archeological museum, something like 2,5 km away from the center.
The local tavernas has a tasty food. the prices are reasonable.
The beaches are slightly out of the city, but not too far. Nice sand

A great place for beach life and to explore the area, take a trip off the main drag and explore the mountains and plains for the area , its was busy in the centre off season, prepare for crowds when the summer hits. restaurants in the area are hit and miss with prices around 30 euro for two for a very basic meal ,without alcohol in 2023, want fish or seafood then add a lot more. I cant believe they are still charging 2-3 euro for a small portion of bread which seems to be mandatory, english not spoken everywhere, bring your phase book. easy access to islands if you can find a place to book your ferry.

Alexandroupoli (Dedeağaç) is the nearest town in Greece to Turkish border. Therefore it attracts lots of Turkish tourists especially on weekends. There are many good taverns amd bars. We like it very much. I would recommend Agora for meat lunch, Nisiotiko and Saint George's Tavern in Makri (10km) for seafood dinner. Avoid sundays if you like to do some shopping all shops are closed.

Although the city considered to be smaller than other touristic areas in Greece , some how still does have all required , extremely delicious restaurants , 20 km away perfect beach so perfect for holiday .
Makri Nama restaurant and beach , Nikiotis restaraunt and İlia's taste (in greek lamgua nad translation is like this
Fully equipped apartment, quiet place, next to the beach. Perfect place for a relaxing vacation.
Near to a beach-bar and Alexandroupolis where you`ll find way too many taverns to enjoy Greek (or any other) food .
Last but not least the host(s) Dimitris (and his family, parents, wife and kinds) are overwhelming.
There is nothing to reproach, or if you have any issue, just ask for help, your issue will be fixed ASAP and if you don`t have any questions, they`ll make sure to ask if everything if fine.
Petros is a great and helpful guy. The house itself is small, but cozy and nice, suitable for a family with a toddler. We loved the proximity to the beach ( 5 mins walk), the garden and the tranquility of the neighborhood ( we also loved the next door neighbors, a very nice and friendly old couple). The beach is clear and clean, with only a few rocks near the entrance, quiet and not crowded at all. Alexandroupolis is just 10mins drive away. Overall we liked it and would go back again.
I love this hotel. This is my second stay there. And if I visit Alexandroupolis again I will definitely stay here. Very clean and big rooms. The bathroom is spacious. They provide small soaps and shampoos. The location is great. The hotel is right in the center. There are many great restaurants, cafes and taverns within five minutes walking distance. The open buffet breakfast is also great for 5 euros. The reception people and hotel staff is very nice people as well.
It’s a great hotel for families. We were travelling with our two year old daughter and had no difficulties at all. The hotel and the staff is very child friendly. Our daughter was so happy to recieve a soft toy parrot from the receptionist upon arrival. The breakfast was diverse and delicious. The staff is very helpful and kind. They took our booking notes seriously and gave us an intersecting room.
The property is well maintained; while near the city, somehow off the busy life. This gives the place a relaxing mood. Beach narrow but wide and exclusive. My wife’s pictures were questioned by friends, with ‘where are the tourists?’. While the hotel was busy the beach seemed to be free of people. Maybe because the season had just started.
But i would not take it any other way… :).
Hotel Filoxenia is in a very quiet location a bit outside Alexandroupoli very near to the sea and shops. It is exceptionally clean and the staff is very helpful. It is excellent value for money. I have stayed with my family a few times and it is always a pleasure to see that they do not make discounts on their quality service. The internet connection is awesome.
Two years ago we passed through Alexandroupoli and said we'd come back for a weekend because it seemed like the perfect place for a getaway. And it happened. The hotel is perfect, a real boutique hotel, impeccable cleanliness, extremely attentive staff, pleasant atmosphere.
PS: thank you for the lovely gift
Location was excellent and the staff (the owner Marianna and her dear mum) were so hospitable. We had excellent breakfast with homemade jam and pastry. Although there weren’t elevator in the hotel they provide a special chair for my father for going upstairs. Thank you for making our journey a good memory 🙏
The hotel's location was very good. We walked everywhere. The room was very clean. There was a parking lot very close and it was free for hotel guests. If we ever come to Alexandroupoli, we will stay here again.
It was the best apartment hotel we stayed in. We liked the house very much. The house was very clean and beautiful. We had all the items we needed. the garden was beautiful.
Everything was perfect.
Spacious and clean room.
Free parking space.
Beachfront. There is beach area of the hotel.
Tasty faboulos breakfast.
I highly recommend it.
Location of the hotel is very good close to the city center, restaurants and cafes.
The rooms are new with nice furniture and a balkony. Clean hotel, frienly staff.
What an absolute legend of a host. Even though I had some private issues he helped me showing more professionalism than any 5 star hotel you can find.
Thank you.
