Hotel and location are lovely, easy to get to and a very special place being in the middle of the Thames. We were given and upgrade which was lovely however the rooms are not large. The food in the restaurant was good but be aware a service charge is automatically added.

Exceptionally nice place to stay. Private, quiet, safe, plenty of parking (free), beautiful bedroom (though not large), bathroom (quite large), separate lounge area for guests (which we used to read). And the room was pre-warmed prior to our arrival. And hugely important was the proprietor was on-site and showed us to the room and explained things. We originally picked the location (Slough) as it was easy to get to Heathrow for a flight the next day.

Two different bin lorries in the pub yard collecting rubbish woke me before 6am.

Disappointing due to the room, room No.4, just too small and poorly equipped for two adults to use and be comfortable. It was more like a single room size with a double bed squeezed into it.
The pub itself, staff, bar and restaurant were good.

Wooburn isn't London.
Wooburn isn't London. It is a small village between London and Oxford. You need a car if you want to stay there. You will stay there if you want to excape the busy London life. Wooburn area isn't a cheap option. You still pay a lot because there aren't too many hotels around.
The people are friendly. The houses are nice. The restaurants offer good food but it isn't London. Even it is just 30 minutes away and not far from Heatrow. You need a reason to go there. You will see local life, local people and not many tourists.
There are a few businsses. You will see business people but it isn't London. No co working spaces. No big hotels, no famous restaurants. But just normal life.
It is very good if you want to travel from France or Holland to Ireland or Scotland and you need a place to stay outside London. Because it is free parking and no problem to drive around.
Do not expect a nightlife. You have a drink in a local bar. You take a taxi around or visit Marlow that is 30 minutes away.
I will be back for work. And I do not mind to be there. But next time I have to visit London too.
