My room & ensuite were clean & tidy. Staff were exceptional - the housekeeping ladies I liaised with were Mari and Charlene when I asked for a few more milk pods and extra toilet paper roll. I did not have the opportunity to try out the hotel's catering facilities as family kept me plied with food haha, but I would recommend the Commercial Hotel to anyone needing accommodation in the area. Everyone was so friendly, from the check in desk, to the young man who helped carry a large suitcase up to my room, to the cleaners to the patrons.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We joined the IHG rewards programme and were allowed to check out much later.
Big spacious room. Comfortable bed. Decent enough breakfast. Simple to park for free at the retail park next door.

Convenient location for anyone coming by car or taxi. Rooms are well sized and decently equipped for this price level. Beds are comfortable, and it's nice to have the option for a bath. Area is quiet (although we stayed midweek) so ideal to get a decent night's sleep.
Restaurant/bar/reception across the carpark is comfortable and the food (both dinner and breakfast) is delicious. The breakfast included in the price is a continental one, so if you want a cooked breakfast it's better to pay for it on the day.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Wishaw; The town centre is basically a high street crossed by another main street, These streets house the main shopping area and like all high streets suffer from the on-line blight which have closed many small shops. however what I liked about it is the area one can visit using Wishaw as a hub, whether it be Carluke, Overtown the Clydeside or Rosebank there is always some where to go, and the nearby countryside scenery is lovely. the added bonus is that car parking is largely free and often not difficult to find a space. my favourite place Denholms bakery in Stewarton Street, you gotta try their pies

Not a lot ...was just visiting a friend who lives iin the area. Hoping it improves in time as it is a beautiful building and could look really amazing and I hope the developers do a good job. Although it was a bit of a mess and the outside a bit boggy it WAS at onetime a gorgeous house it could be again if the owners put in the effort.

I regularly stay at Bonkle House and find it very safe and comfortable. I work shifts on and off at the local hospital and the accommodation is 15 mins drive away. The beds are super soft and comfortable, absolutely perfect after a 12hr shift and the showers are just magic. Anna the host, is super welcoming and kind.

Wishaw is my home town and has changed a lot over the years, so a little run down, like most high streets. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. There are some shops but Lanark or Motherwell are probably your best bet for shopping.
brilliant location perfect for me visiting my daughter-in-law and prem grandbabies at Wishaw hospital...(especially as booked let minuet the day before)
very quiet estate...neighbour was very chatty which was nice...didn't feel unsafe as a solo woman....found a little walk round a nature reserve (Greenhead Moss Community Nature Park)....very much value for money...will definitely be booking again for when I come back up for visits as found a little short cut back to Motherwell to pick up family..
The rooms were very comfortable and clean, there was very good heating and the ensuite was spacious, spotless and modern. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The owner was very friendly and helpful, he told us the best way to get to our friends home and also the best route to the M74. We stay at quite a lot of hotels/guest houses and this was definitely one of our top 3, we will go back if we're in that area again, we would recommend Herdshill to our friends.
Friendly welcome. Nice spacious room with comfortable bed, and good shower in the ensuite bathroom. Nice fluffy towels. TV and tea/coffee making in the room. Very good breakfast in the morning served by pleasant, cheery staff.
Good location for me with regular buses to Carluke and Wishaw just a short 10-minute walk away.
excellent breakfast, quality shower; very powerful, large rooms, scenic views. I usually stay in large chain hotels, but are finding these owner managed ones are far more homely and your supporting the local area family business rather than some multi national operation.
A really cool property and possibly the best £40 we’ve ever spent!!! A beautiful, period building that is full of character, clean and comfortable. Definitely suited for those looking for something different to the stark corporate style hotels.
Very spacious probably one most spacious hotel rooms I've ever had. Very good price per night. Clean. Good location. Warm. Although I've put below improvements overall as price was cheap for what paying it's very good for price.
Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We had our evening meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious and really good value for Monday. Ideal location for anyone visiting nearby areas
Customer service, breakfast, both continental and hot. Also it was peaceful area and close to grocery stores and a shopping stores. Very classical and rustic hotel. We really liked it.
Amazing property, looks like a mansion! Room was huge with interesting furniture. Location was great for us because we were traveling by car, also private parking near hotel.
