Room was lovely but just as well am quite slim as felt child sized, the place had a well cared for & welcoming feel though, better than any amount of corporate spend/newness

The hotel is old and has lots of character. The staff are really friendly. Morgana was really helpful and very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel. We had a great stay and enjoyed looking in the old ballroom. We played cards till late in the bar, having drinks in front of the real fire. Chatted to many of the locals. It was a really nice weekend. The food was also great.
Food excellent. Fresh good-quality home-baked cakes placed in room each day. The Lemon Drizzle Cake is the best I've ever tasted. Staff couldn't have been more friendly.
There wasn't really anywhere convenient in the bathroom for placing toiletries. A shelf located near the wash basin would have been nice.
